pay them all off, start with biggest interest ones first, keep up all monthly payments on the others while you do it, or you will incurr charges and never got rid of them |

Closing ALL of your cards may not be a good idea. If you decide to close some, keep the oldest accounts open. The average age of accounts is a factor in your credit score. Write a letter to the issuer of any cards you decide to close. The letter should request the account be closed and that your credit report should reflect the account was closed "at customers request". This indicates YOU closed the account, not the issuer. The address to send this letter is usually different than the payment address. You should by able to find it on your statement, or by calling the customer service number on the back of the card. |

You don't want to close them because it looks bad to have a high debt/credit ratio. For example if you have five cards with 1000. each available with 100 on each... it looks better to have 500/5000 used, than if you had 2 cards with 250 on each, you'd have 500/2000 used. If you don't want to use them, don't use them, but it's best to keep open to build good credit. |

It depends on whether you have a balance on them or not. If so I agree with consolidation them. Otherwise contact each company and close them all. Also request a letter in writing that they are closed. So companies will try and get you to stay, listen to them, they may give you a much lower APR than you already have. Best of luck to you. |
