An ATM card allows you to draw money from your bank accounting using an ATM. It is not a credit card. The money you draw out has to be on deposit in your account. It can be a debit card, in which case you should be able to use it on line, provided the seller accepts debit cards. Some banks charge a fee for using the card on ATMs other than the bank's own.
A credit card can also be used on an ATM, but in that case you are actually borrowing money from the card issuer. You have to pay a fee and you will be charged interest on the money until you pay it back. On line merchants accept credit cards for purchases you make from them, provided the card is valid. |

Don't use your ATM card unless you KNOW AND TRUST the business. Use a third party like paypal instead. With a credit card you have some additional protection against theft. If you plan to use a credit card online, make sure that you have some sort of protection plan with the card company. |

If you have to ask this question my guess is that you're not old enough to have either. The spelling and punctuation are a hint too. |

Few (if any) online merchants will accept regular ATM/debit cards. If the card is a check card with the Visa or Mastercard logo on it, you can use it anywhere Visa and Mastercard are accepted, including online stores. |

No can't.
Some banks allow their cc to be used as an ATM card. But not the otherway around. If yours allow it, you got it.
Debit card is the reason why atm card cannot be used as a cc card. But if your atm card can double up as a debit card then you can use it that way. Most banks allow that.
Your first stop should be your local friendly bank. Or, go to their website, or several banks... and their website....? simple solution right? |

An ATM card is limited to using it at an ATM only. A debit card which is like a Visa card, but limited to whatever cash balance is in your checking account. A credit card is a card with a credit line that you are borrowing from with the intent of paying back each month until it is paid off.
You cannot use an ATM card for online purchases, only a debit or credit card. |

Your ATM card, aka debit card, is directly attached to your bank accounts (checking, savings, etc.), while your credit card is a separate credit entity owned by companies like American Express, Visa, Master Card, etc.
Some online sites will allow you to purchase games with your debit card, however, the vast majority require a credit card for quick and easy payment. I'd much rather buy online with a credit card as your sensitive bank account information will remain slightly more secure because you don't have to give it out. |

ATM card allows you to access cash and personal account information from your issuing banks terminals. You cannot use it to make purchases. A debit card is a card that is like a credit card, but you can only spend what is in your account. You can use it in a debit or credit payment for purchases, and you can use it to make purchases on-line. A credit card is issued by a bank, giving you a credit limit for spending. It is like a loan, because you have to pay back the amount you "borrowed". If you cannot pay the whole balance when your statement comes, you start accruing interest on your "loan" |

ATM cards take money straight from your bank account and a credit card sends you a bill at the end of the month. Also credit cards charge interest on purchases after 30 days and atms do not usually. |

atm card takes money right away out of your bank account and credit card sends you a bill monthly. Only use your atm card online if you have the cash in your bank account or the bank will HURT you with fines and fees. Credit cards are nasty little loan sharks with horrible interest rates. OUCH! |
