What is the difference between a master card and visa card?
None....
but the less you have the better you will be off- Believe me!
MasterCard and Visa are the names of the global companies who manage credit cards. They can both be used around the world

Nothing relay.. Visa and MasterCard are two separate companies that make their own rules and sell their services to companies, like Wal-mart,Saks. or any business that wants more sales. I used to work for Citibank Visa/MasterCard customer service. The only difference is once in a while a venue like the Olympics will ONLY allow its vendors to use Visa or MasterCard or even American Express. In that case a a special contract is agreed upon and a percent fee is given to the venue like the Olympics. I am only using the Olympics as an example only not that they do this. American express you pay in full each month where as Visa and MasterCard you can pay partial payments and have finance fees or pay in full with no fees. Hope that helped

two different card companies

They are two different companies that provide basically the same service.

They both cost you money to use. The difference is the issuer. Master card is one company & visa is the other. They're both credit cards & will both charge you up the yeng yang if you make a late payment or go over your spending limit. My advice???? Don't use credit cards. All they do is make you spend money for something that you don't have the money for in the first place. If you want something, do it the old fashioned way & save the money- it's more rewarding & won't cost you any extra money.

There is no difference, just rival companies which offer the same payment processing service. VISA is considered to be the larger, but both do roughly the same thing.
Its the same as asking what the difference between Coca Cola and Pepsi.. its all about choice.

Honestly when it comes to the consumer there is absolutely no difference. The difference only matters to the issuing company. MC and Visa aren't even technically two different companies. They just have different benefits, costs, attributes for the issuer.

I find no practical differences where I am. Just 2 different companies.

Two different companies, though VISA seems more widely accepted worldwide.

For the average person..NOTHING.
Typically they work the same way and have similar rates. The rewards programs they are involved with may differ though.
