There is no physical difference in credit card or debit card, both look like same, but by credit card you can buy things now and can pay later and for debit card you must have money in the bank to withdraw it or buy things with it, If you use credit card at ATM you need pin no, and for debit card also you need a pin no at ATM to withdraw money, If you use slolen card for shopping and was reported stolen it will be useless and can land you in jail also

hey it seems u r hands on on some1s debit card... lol ,well yes u dont need pin n password for debit card

The back ground of both debit and credit cards are same: To avoid keeping physical cash in your pocket, to avoid theft and loss. Both cards are operated by banks as plastic cards in different colors but almost the same size. Credit card is the card where no physical money is required to be deposited in the bank, but the bank gives a money limit to the user to use for daily expenses and on the due date, the user has to pay it back to the bank. In short, the bank allows us to use the bank's own money through credit card and expects to be paid back on the due date. A debit card is little different in operation and working from a credit card; a debit card requires physical money to be deposited in your bank account and then the bank allows you to use that money for your expenditures. ATM Card is also the same. If you have money in your account, you can use a debit card for buying/purchases and if you don't have money deposited in your account, the card will be declined. A debit card is just like cash in your pocket but slightly safer than cash. In short, credit card is understandable if you think of CREDIT being issued by bank and Debit card DEBIT. In financial terms, debit card is a better option than credit as you are allowed to spend only when you have money in your account.

A credit card, ex. mastercard or Visa, will not give you a pin # unless you want to get a cash advance from you card that you will pay back, with interest. You would have to request that # from the CC company.

A debit card has a Credit card LOGO, ex. Visa or Mastercard, on it which means you can use it where credit cards are accepted. The debit card is linked to a bank account and is considered cash, which is why it is immediately deducted from your account. It means you could physically walk to an ATM, insert a pin # and take cash out if you wanted to.. if the debit card has a CC logo, you can use it as Cash or Credit; depending if your bank charges fees on how to use it. The card also says Debit card on it, in small print in the front near the bank name or logo.

Debit card = need pin to withdraw $, it is cash.
Credit card = you are buying things on "credit" paying later.

For a debit card, you need a pin to use it. For a credit card you don't. But most debit cards can also be used AS credit cards...so then you wouldn't need the pin.

Teddy's Mom
With mine no difference, when used as credit I do not need pin.. Used as Debit I need pin.

Naren
Physically there is no difference between debit and credit cards. To use it in merchandise you do not require anything anything and for ATM transction you require password for both

if u have account in the bank u can withdraw the amount at any time with the help of debit card. to that extent money will be debited to u r account or reduced. instead of using cheque book u can use debit card issued by the bank. but personal identification number pin is a must to operate u r debit card. whereas evnthough u have no money in u r account u can withdraw money with the help of credit card and u have to repay to the bank and the bank will charge interest ranging 25 to 34% if u r default they may charge more amount. that is the difference betweena debit card and credit card.al the best

with a debit card its linked to your checking account n when u make a purchase its automatically deducted from your account a credit card you pay interest on a purchase
