Those other sites don't offer free credit reports because they ask for credit cards and charge you for it. Annual credit report is completely free, no charges or gimmicks, just make sure u answer the questions correctly. (questions dealing with your background) |

Yes you can get your credit reports free at www. annualcreditreport.com . But remember do not ask for you fico score, otherwise the credit bureaus will try to charge you for the information. |

i have not heard of a free report on a web page but i was told to apply for something and when they send you a letter that states you were denied they will have an address and phone number on it where you will call and receive your free credit report.

these sites dont ACTUALLY give you a free credit report- if you have been turned down for credit- just ask that lender to give you a letter of refusal. on the letter is a place to contact for a free credit report- you are entitled to a free credit report any time you are refused credit- but every time a place checks into your credit- THAT also shows up on your credit report- so be careful.
also- you are entitled to one free credit report annually from each credit reporting agency- but you must request it in writing.

freecreditreport is not free. Since federal law mandated that consumers are able to obtain free credit reports every 12 months, Credit reports have been available at http://www.annualcreditreport.com.
People who don't know the correct answers should not be answering questions.
#1,,,It does not effect your credit scores to obtain your own reports
#2...Watching TV obviously doesn't do the trick, Why would anyone advertise a free product on TV
#3...When It was announced that federal law mandated free credit reports, it was in the news (TV, Newspapers, etc.)
#4...freecreditreport.com was a devise to lure people in the wrong direction. Obviously it worked.
#5,,,The news reported, at that time, to go to the below mentioned sight and not to get lured to other sights.
#6...I have obtained my free credit report online every year since this new law took effect in 2005 |
