Simple- pay your bills on time. Get one credit card and use it for gas or something that you'd normally pay cash for and pay off the balance monthly. It may take a few years, but eventually your credit score will improve. |

the first step is to get a copy of your current credit report. anything reported negatively on the credit report rolls off after a certain amount of time. Then depending on how bad your credit apply for a credit card. Orchard bank works with people with bad credit to help rebuild credit. |

Wait, wait, wait. I know how that is. If you can't pay it off (which everyone will automatically say you do, even though you may not have the funds for something that was highly medical and all that like me) then it will automatically go off your credit report in 7 years from the day that it was sent to collections.
Until then, there is nothing you can really do. No matter what you're told you'll NEVER be able to erase it from your credit report, so don't pay someone money to do that as it is a scam. |

You can start by pulling your credit report form all three credit agencies which are Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. You can find out how to obtain these for free annually at the U.S. Government website at Federal Trade Commission. Then, follow these simple guidelines to help restore and improve your credit score.
First, make sure all the information on your credit report is accurate.
Second, try to pay off all or any accounts that are currently in collections or make payment arrangements with the creditor to pay off the balance monthly.
Third, any credit card that is over 50% of the available credit line should be paid down to under half of your total credit line. Your credit score is lowered when your available balance is over 50% of your total credit line.
Finally, if you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card. |

unfortunately, the best ways I know how to improve your credit would be to use a credit card in moderation and pay the entire bill each month. Also, getting a car loan and paying it back with monthly payments would build credit. |

Making sure to pay off at least the minimum balance of the credit card on time every month and try to reduce your debt. Those are the only things that you can do to improve your credit score. |
