cap[ital one is actually pretty cool about it. there is only a 29.00 charge and they don't raise your rate

Sigh Co
charge you an overlimit fee and probably decline future purchases until your balance is paid below your credit limit.

Idontcit
hit you with an overlimit fee.

They'll love you for it....CapOne LOVES these fees and is quite creative in assessing all sorts of fees for credit cards. You'll get to pay $39--$45 per month for an over the limit fee as long as you are over the limit.

Note: In trying to get below your credit limit, be sure to factor in the interest they will charge you and add that to your payment to get back below your credit limit....Otherwise, if you just pay them the exact amount that you're over the limit, once the interest for the month kicks in, you'll be right back over the limit.

~you will be charged an over limit fee. its possible that if you have a promotial rate, you would loose that, and also possible for you to go into a default rate, like 29.99%.

Prince Iceman
Charge you a huge over-the-limit fee until you bring it down below youor set limit. Oh and they will charge more interest on the amount that is over the limit too.

me n' mona
Give you a nice little over the limit fee and keep giving you those fees until you have paid the over the limit fee off and get your card under the limit. It's not worth putting your card over the limit for, trust me...I've done it. If you absolutely need more room on the card, you can call them up before making the purchase to let them know that you need an increase on your card and they may or may not give it to you.

Charge an over-the-limit fee

They report you to the credit companies (experian and stuff). It goes on your record, and your credit score decreases. Also some places give you a fee for going over your limit. Some give you a grace period to repair it, some don't and you go straight to collections.

Vikings will cut off your head (what's in your wallet?)

Madame Blueberry!~
you know they will hit you for over the limit fees, and mulitple other charges.

One thing that you apparently don't know. I had a notice from them this year that said that you can call them and ask that if your purchase puts you over your credit limit it will be denied. That is an opt-out feature because of course they want your money generated by all those crap fees.

So, call them at the 800# and notify them.

Otherwise be prepared to bend over.

Classy Granny
charge you an over the limit fee and possibly raise your interest rate.

sometimes they charge you an over the limit fee

cbass1017
Aside from the fact that it looks horrible on your credit you have to be very careful when making your next payment. Most credit cards will only make you pay the minimum amount neccasary to bring you under the limit knowing that your next finance charge will push you back up over your limit so they can charge you another fee. Make Sure you are paying enough so that you won't get caught in this kind of scenario!

la$t drinx$
no doubt a fee will be involved

Remy
They'll call and let you know

peace
