A lot of major universities have a credit union affiliated with them. I would go with that. I go to michigan state university, and do my banking with michigan state university federal credit union. If you have a credit union at your school, use it, they are used to/specifically set up to do business with students, therefore offer good rates for students and a lot of financial advice and help. |

Find a bank that has free checking. It's great for students because you don't a monthly fee for a checking account. Usually, as long as you have more than 0 cents, it will stay open. Community Trust and Iberia are just to name a few if you are in the south. |
