Whats worse, bad credit or no credit?

Depends on how bad, but I would think, speaking strictly as a person with no particular expertise in this area but with a wallet full of credit cards, that bad credit is worse.

One solution to almost all credit issues is having a lot of cash to put down. If you are trying to buy a car for 20 grand and you can put 10 grand down your bad credit or no credit might not make much difference.

No credit is generally easier to change than bad credit.
Charge something somewhere. Get a department store credit card. Aren't they easier to get. Then charge a few things and pay it off. Now you have a credit rating, I think.

Bad credit, definitely, especially if you have a lot of debts and collections or a bankruptcy still to take care of.
If you have no credit, all you have to do is get a secured credit card from your bank, and soon you'll have begun a credit history.

Bad credit.

It takes longer to recover from bad credit.

I have to agree with Tom. It depends on how you look at it.

I do auto finance and I get people approved with bad credit everyday, I also get people with no credit approved but it's a lot harder.

The way lenders look at it bad credit can sometimes be explained and depending on how old the bad stuff it they wont even ask.

With no credit however, they want everything up front before they will even consider approving someone. They have to prove where they live, how long, where they work and how long and how much they make a month before taxes. The lender must verify all of this first and then give the approval if everything checks out.

Bad credit. It's easy to establish credit if you don't currently have any.

Bad credit is far worse then having no credit. Having no credit history is a matter of opportunity yet realized. Having bad credit history is proof of an inability to fulfill obligation.

Bad credit.

No credit is easily fixable and bad credit can take many many years to improve.

Plus lenders tend to be easier on people with no credit because they realize that sometimes its hard to build credit as a young person.

Well, that answer can go either way.

If you have no credit, it will be almost impossible to obtain any loan because you have no credit score.
It is however easier to establish credit, then to repair credit.

If you have bad credit, you will have some type of credit score and you may still be able to obtain loans. It just depends on how bad your credit is.

It really just depends on how you want to look at it.
