If you are buying something online, I would suggest using a prepaid debit card, sometimes called a prepaid credit card, like the AccountNow Prepaid Card (http://www.accountnow.com).
Using a prepaid card is better than a credit card because you can only spend the amount you put on the card. If you used a credit card and something happened during your online transaction, such as fraud, then you won't have to worry about someone maxing out your credit card.
Best of all, the AccountNow Prepaid Card is FDIC insured, so if your card number was stolen, you would be protected if someone made unauthorized charges. |

Paypal is the best way to go. They offer all kinds of protection to the buyer, at no real cost to yourself. |

For double protection use credit card through Paypal.
Basically if your item never shows up, you file a chargeback. The seller has to prove delivery of the item. If they cannot, you get your money back.
Ditto if the item arrives broken, you have a back up to get a replacement of the product, or if they can't replace, then a repair or refund (usually a refund). |

Its best to use PayPal when you buy something, because its an eBay company. I think you get protected for up to £500 with them.
Its easy to open a PayPal account and you can link this with your credit/debit card.
Here is some info- http://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/buyerprotection.html
*EDIT* The protection amount is now unlimitied, not £500 =) |

I think they say that it is better to use credit card than a debit as you are insured if you have any difficulties when buying online x |

I think it's best to have a paypal account as it is protected. To open one is a challenge and can take up to five days to set up, but when complete it's very secure. You can pay for things instantly and there's no fuss. |

Absolutely best to use a credit card.
If you're at all concerned...ask your company for another card...and just use it on Ebay....thats what i do (you can keep the limt v low).
Legally....anything you purchase with your card is actually purchased by the card company. You have the backing of your company to go after faulty goods, non delivery, errors etc. |

In the UK, if you are buying from a trader and the goods/service is over £100 then the card provider is equally liable for the goods complying with the legislation.
