Payroll is responsible for issuing Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement. According to Federal Treasury Regulation §31.6051-1, Form W-2 must be furnished, meaning properly addressed and postmarked, by January 31 st and Form 1042-S (for Foreign National employees) by March 15 th . |

legally they have to be postmarked by the 31st. So if you work for a small company it could go as late as a day or two into feb. But most send them out a little sooner.
(i dont know if this is accurate, but I head they were running a little later in general because something was changes on the w-2 form itself.....Again I dont know how acurate this is I heard it through the gossip chain) |

legally u have to get them by the 31st my husband got his already i havent gotten mine yet though but a job i had when i was like 18 i didnt get mine until march and the only reason y i got it in march and not april when he wanted to give them to us was because i filled a complaint with the company through the IRS |
