After your 10 years is up when does it come off your credit profiles. Will it be on the month /date you filed for Bankrupcy or the month/date you were discharged. |

10 years for the date of discharge. You have to make sure it comes off though. If it stays on your report, you have to dispute it as obsolete with all the credit bureaus. |

It will be removed on the month and date it was discharged. Exactly 10 years from that date!! Good luck and make sure you do check with all 3 credit bureaus that the court did remove it. The three credit reporting agencies are trans union equifax and experian!!! You are entitled to one free credit file per year from each of the comps. Request it directly from them to get the accurate information. You can request online, by mail or fax. If you were denied credit recently - the comp that denied you can give you the # to call them and request a file for free - it is automated. Sometimes you can talk to the utilities dept directly though - if you applied for utilites recently. If the bankruptcy is still on the file you will need to contact the court and ask them to remove it or call the bureaus and have them contact the courts. Either way it is the court that removes it for you.:):):) |

Clark Howard in Atlanta (syndicated Radio Talk Show Host) says usually it comes off a few months BEFORE the discharge, so the credit services make sure they are not late in doing so. |

They never really "come off"... It'll always be there... But it doesn't affect you anymore after 2 years... Both the file date and discharge date show up on credit reports... |
