When does debt non payment stoplooking 4u?

If it goes into a judgement...it will stay on your record for 7 years and can be renewed by the creditor indefinitely. It's up to the creditor to decide when they want to quit looking for you. Chances are they stop, but leave a neg report on your credit report also. Student Loans, taxes and child support never go away and they will hunt you down forever or until you pay them off....don't let them default.

it wont. its bad.

Never.
The debt also increases as you get charged further for their attempts to find you.

Either 4 years or 6 years, but some of them don't stop looking if they're like court orders and stuff.

Good luck evading them!

they don't try finding a free debt councelling company, they will really help, you pay what you can afford, plus it stops all the horrible letters and phonecalls.

Never, adding that the longer you ignore your creditors the higher the debt becomes.

However you can request something called IVA and have at least £250 pounds disposable income, you must not apply for any credit for a minimum of 6 years and a day adding that by then those debts are normally written off, although your have to rebuild your credit history once again.

There's also the other alternative which is even harsher you could apply for bankruptcy, have a think if your already avoiding your creditors, don't leave it coz it only gets worse.

Yep With Eddi on this one .... if you owe say £ 8,000 ... take out other credit so you owe over £10,000....then either get a IVA or go Bankrupt.
Oh and never open your door to a Bailiff as this is a " Open invite" ,,once in side your home most of YOUR possessions can be taken for re-sale at auction... i know iv done it..!
Go for "Unsecured credit that way your home wont be at risk , Have you cars log book changed over to your wife / Girl friend ,they way you wont lose your car..... ( or register car as a taxi ..." Tools of the trade " will NOT count as goods that can be sold...as a rule debt under £500 will NOT be pursued as will cost more to recover than the £500 debt.!!
If you need anymore info .. Email me ill try and help.

I worked in collections for a while. They never stop looking for you. Someday when you are trying to buy a house at least one of the reporting agencies will report that you have outstanding debts. Pay your bills even if you have to give up a beer or two a week or stop drinking soda. There's no reason the rest of us should have to absorb your debt. What have you done for us?

manikally
they don't
actually i think it's 6 years and the debt is written off.

C K Platypus
They don't. If it gets to 7 years, they just sell it to a less "reputable" company.

If someone is harassing you, tell them not to call you and do everything by mail. If they refuse to do this, file a complaint with the State Attourney General's office.

You aren't required to speak with these people. Plus they lie. One company was harassing my sister for something that wasn't even hers. They told her that they could put a lien on her husband's house and car and she'd only recently got married. They can't hold a spouse responsible for debts incurred before marriage. They screamed at her and even threated to through her into jail! They can't do that either. The people that work at those places are SICK SICK SICK.

7 years, quickest way is to get shi tloads of debt, new car, mobile fones, loans, enjoy urself for 6 mts and then go bankrupt, u wont get anything for 3 years then after 5 years ur credit score will be back to minimal, and u can start all over again, but by that time u should have learned to get on with things without credit and maybe grown out of bumping things, go enjoy!!!
