When you spend all your money on your debit/check card, how much negative can you go over?

demonic_urge
You can spend up to what is in your account, unless you have some type of overdraft insurance, or line of credit attached to the card.

sQricky
You can't go negative on a debit/check card.
you can go negative on a credit card, to a limit.

Well if you have direct deposit and work for Von's(Safeway owned) up to $300.00 and they just take it from you next check , some depends on the bank called courtesy pay, others none

guest
Depends on your overdraft (the amount of negative that the bank allows you to spend).

Check with your bank to find out what your overdraft limit is. You can apply to have it increased.

ThereseRose
Not sure that you can. It would depend on your bank if you have overdraft coverage.

zelin
I go through adams bank and they'll let you spend as much as you like over that amount, BUT for every purchase after you're overdrafted it's a 20.00 charge plus the amount.

delranian9300
none they chatge u as soon as u go over

Dave Shankar
why not just get in control of your finances and only buy stuff you can actually afford?

Dream Builder
Depends on your bank. But once you do that, they'll also start charging you overdraft charges... Not good. $35 and up a pop.

Matt S
You can go over quite a bit even without overdraft protection but overdraft fees from the business(es) and your bank accumulate quickly.
