Where's the best place to check your credit score?
I know a lot of websites offer this service, but isn't there a free website where the govt. allows you to check your score once a year?

Is this safe, or could a computer hacker get in and get your data while viewing this site? And also does checking your score cost you points?

Could you please also explain the difference between my credit report and my score?

you could go to Annualcreditreport.com. The gov does allow you to see your credit score annually but there is NO place that gives you the score for free. I think on this site it cost 5 bucks or something. When you choose a credit reporting company don t go with Experian cause they are a bunch of dumb a*sses!

Good luck!

Use:

http://www.annualcreditreport.com

It's free to get your credit rports. You can either print them out, or have them mail it to you. You can order your credit score for like $5.

Don't use freecreditreport.com. You have to sign up & pay for something.

Save your money.
If you have to check, your credit isn't good.

Link Correon

It's secure (you can tell by the https://).

I signed up for a Providian Visa credit card (which has recently changed to Washington Mutual) because they give you an updated FICO score for free each month. They report the information from TransUnion. It's safe and free.

annualcreditreport.com

The reports are free but you have to pay for the credit score. It's worth it.

Once a year you can get a free coy of your credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com.

While you are at it, you might want to pay the couple extra bucks to get your score included as well.

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp is encrypted, safe.

GO TO "FREECREDITREPORT.COM" YOU CAN REQUEST YOUR CREDIT
RATING FROM THE 3 LARGEST CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES IN THE US. AFTER YOU RECEIVE THE CREDIT REPORT, YOU WILL THEN HAVE AS OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE YOUR CREDIT SCORE, BUT THIS PART IS NOT FREE, IT WILL COST YOU $6.95. STILL A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER THAN ANY OTHER METHOD THAT IS LEGAL AND MORAL.
