Where can I get a good credit card (no large fees) if I have NO CREDIT?
I have a card with my name under my mothers account, (she pays the bill) so I was told that it doesnt count as anything. She has very good credit, and so will I, although how do i prove it? Its time for me to get my own credit card, although I have no credit (no good or bad credit) so who would accept me?

Just get any credit card, doesn't matter what the interest rate or anything is. Just make sure you pay it off every month then the interest won't matter and it will help your credit rating. Make sure the card doesn't have an annual fee either. Then eventually you will be offered better credit cards. I currently have 7 credit cards because i opened four credit cards when i was 17 then went from there and now i have better credit cards with rewards.

Do not listen to the people that are telling you to get debit cards, if you want a credit rating you need to have available credit which doesn't apply to a debit card.

Also, getting a credit card from certain stores such as Victoria's secret don't necesarily work as a real credit card, they are only limited to that store.

Citi card would be a good card to start out with, you just have to be responsible with it, if you want a good credit rating you can't abuse it.

get a checking account from washington mutual. All they need is 1 dollar and you get a debit card which is better because you only spend money that you have.

Are you a student? You can start out with a credit card from any department store or stores like Victoria's secret (But you need a checking account to open a CC). Also if you are a student you could open a credit card with CitiCards. They are not very strict about credit history, because they expect that students do not have any. But be careful about running the ballance, the rate is high! If you want to build credit, pay off everything in full1

if your an authorized user it means nothing if your a co-applicant it has been reported to you reports.
check your report to know free here https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

if you still feel you have no credit you will need a secured card or a home depot or department store type account. jewelry stores (cresent zales and such are great for building credit and easy to get)

chareg a little pay 1 payment then next month pay it off wait a month do again and the you have some credit history. DONT GO IN DEBT!!!! DONT CHARGE MORE THAN YOU HAVE IN CASH!!

As someone said, interest rates on your first card doesn't matter. Plan to pay the balance off each month. Also, some credit cards offer program fees at lower interest and higher interest cards with no fees. I prefer the latter so they don't get a dime. In six months the offers will start pouring in. Soon will get offers below 12 % with no fees.

It is important to establish credit since the world is credit-driven. Debit cards, as someone mentioned will do squat to build your credit.

HBCS has been a good company to work with.
First Premier Bank is ugly. Aspire is legal robbery.

Capital One is OK but never be late, I closed my Capital One after only 6 months. I was never late except they sent my first statement to address I've never heard of. I had to be firm with them about a late fee, I was one day late due receiving a statement two days before it was due. They took the late fee off, after a lengthy discussion.
