Where can I get a loan for $2500 with fair credit?
I have already been scammed by Sterling Finche online and now find myself in dire need of funds. What to do? I am not a loser, I work (teacher) just had a rough summer. I sold everything I can sell! I'm still short, payday is 25 days away!

If a normal financial institution won't help you (i.e. a reputable bank), then why not try a company like Wells Fargo or CitiFinancial that cater to people with lower than average credit scores. At least, in Canada those companies exist.

I don't recommend dealing with online companies, as so many of them are scams, upfront advance fee loans.

There are several ways you can get a loan with fair credit you could look at a company like Citifinicial or Wells Fargo usually they will want you to have some sort of collateral like a car or something. Or you could apply for a credit card. Or there is a website called www.prosper.com where you can submit a loan and people bid on it.

Do you have a relationship with a local credit union or a credit union for teachers? I have found that credit unions many times consider the person and the circumstance, not just the score.

I agree with "CNV". DON'T try online banks. I found myself with horrible credit (think 300's...yeah, that bad) even at age 20 (which is pretty common), and when I absolutely had no choice but to try for a vehicle, I still couldn't get a loan--even for $1000. I got a Capital One credit card (no other cards would accept me) and my credit has shot up so much in the 6 months I've had it. (think nearly 700 now)

I am NOT reccommending a credit card to solve all of your problems, but if you want your credit to go up, it is okay to get one as long as you only charge a little (I charge $20-$40 a month) and what you can pay for a month and pay it off right away.

You can also try those "Cash Advances" and "Car Title Loans", but please be weary of them and read ALL of the fine print before doing so. They will get you some cash if you're in dire need, and sometimes all they require is a clean title to your car or your next check (keep in mind obviously you'll need to pay it back).
