at 16 you can't enter a contract so you will only be able to get loans from family or friends, no legitimate lending institution will give a loan to you at 16. |

You have to be 18 and be on a job before any banks will loan you anything, unless you have a co-signer. Have someone with good credit to sign with you and then that will start to build your credit that way. But if you do not pay it back, it will hurt their credit as well.
By the way, an "overdraft" is where you spend money in your account that you do Not have. Then you have to pay overdraft fees. Are you where you can work? If so, can you work more hours? Sometimes when you have to figure things out for yourself, you tend to do much better. Goodluck! |

Nowhere other than your parents, friends, or other relatives. You are not old enough to enter into a legal binding contract. No one in their right mind would loan you money expecting it back. Even if you got an IOU from a friend, they couldn't legally hold you responsible, therefore, it would be silly to even loan money to a 16 year old. Ask your mom for some dough if you really need it. |

Only place to go at 16 is to a family member or really close family friend.
You should not get in a position at 16 to borrow money from anyone who is really expecting it to be paid back. It can ruin your credit (before you even have any) if you can't pay it back or ruin relationships if you go to someone who sees the loan as more then a gift with no expectation of return. And it could be worse if you go a shadier route.
If you need quick money do some odd jobs, housecleaning, construction, babysitting or anything legit. Most times you are paid at the completion of the days work so you have the cash right away.
