Check out www.bankrate.com for credit cards. There is also a website called something like card web which may help. I believe that Bank of America offers a secured card ... but I am sure that there are others.
Be sure and pay on time... that, more than anything, will help improve your FICO score. For more help on improving your FICO score, go to www.myfico.com |

Any place that offers a regular credit card should offer a secured card. BTW, the card looks just like a regular card. No one can tell the difference except the issuer. |

If you don't have ANY credit, this will help. If you have BAD credit, there is more you must do. |

Good question. Most major banks offer them, like Bank of America for example. You can walk in any branch and apply. Sercured Credit cards can bring you credit score if paid on time. Just make sure you pay your bill on time every month ans you'll be fine. |

Getting a secured credit card will not clear up your credit. It will give you an opportunity to obtain additional credit, but cannot "fix" your problem. |

Most banks and credit companies offer them, but you'll probably get a better deal with a credit union. |

Bad idea. Try cleaning up your current credit situation. Usually secured credit cards are scams with god awful interest rates. Go to annualcreditreport.com and get a free copy of your credit file from Equifax, Transunion and Experian. Find out what credit problems you currently have. Work towards paying off past debt or disputing debt that is not yours. Most companies, if your account is in collections, will settle for pennies on the dollar. I really advise people to not try to clear up debt with more debt. That's a mistake. If you have any questions contact me. |
