There are two reasons why you cannot get a credit card at this time.
1. You must be 18 in order to enter into a legal contract.
2. In order for a credit card company to extend you credit you will have to prove that you can pay it back. Therefore if you have no job, a credit card company will not give a credit card.
Do not worry. After you turn 18 and have get a job, you will be swamped with credit card offers. |

In every state in this grand United States of American, you have to be eighteen years old. This is the legal age to have the ability to contract and a credit card is a contractual agreement. You may ask your parents to make you a co-user of the card, as I did that for my children. PS: Some credit card companies want even issue you a card until you are at least twenty one years old. I had a valid master card at age 16. My parents bank suggested it with my parents as cosigners.
The initial credit line was $500. I paid the bill each month and established my credit history. If I had failed to pay the bill, my parents would have been notified and in my house, there would have been hell to pay. (My parents agreed that they would not request copies of the bills unless I screwed up.)
As I got older, the bank upped the credit limit and removed my parents as cosigners when I reaced the age of majority. (I still have the card.)
This was several decades ago. The card had my photo on it, but since it was before the digital era, it was a passport photo laminated onto the card. It did make it easier to get gas stations and stores to accept the card because frankly I did look too young to have the card. |

You must be 18 to be approved for a credit card. You'd need someone to add you as an authorized user. Any older friends or parents who would trust you?
As for not having a job, there are credit cards where you put down a deposit that matches your "credit" in order to build credit history. I believe that's a secured credit card. |

You cannot get a credit card yet as you are not old enough to enter into a contract (which is what a credit card really is, a contract to borrow money money and pay it back). No way around it. Sorry.
That said: you can probably get a secured card. That is, you deposit a certain amount in the account and draw against that. It's not really a credit card; operates more like a debit card. |
