Visa or Mastercard will be a good choice. Find out with a 0% APR intro for a year or so, that way when you start making money you can pay it off without any high interest attached to it. |

i use tesco card but get free points which can be exchanged for lots of things.
But if you looking for smethign for emergancies then get a NON FEE card and remember to keep an eye on the APR. higher the APR the more interest you have to pay.
Also watch out for the card companies that charge you interest from the purchase date not a couple of weeks afer the billing date like some.
Best idea is not to have one but its hard not to nowadays. |

It's hard to say which credit card is "best" without knowing your personal needs and interests. But if you're traveling abroad, you might want to find an offer with low (or NO!) international transaction fees. Right now, Capital One is the only major credit card issuer with no international transaction fees. HSBC charges 1%, AMEX 2%, and most other issuers 3%.
