I don't know why all those AMex supporters are in this string. Anyone that has been out of the States knows that Visa is the most accepted card "internationally" and since the poster is from India, I hardly think that AMex would do him any good. That said, the best credit card is also a credit card that you ALWAYS use responsibly. Use it for expenses that you already have the money for and then pay it off every month (before the deadline). If you do this then the interest amount is completely irrelevant, just make sure that it has no annual fee. Used responsibly it will then allow you to build up your credit rating so that you will be able to borrow money in the future at better and better interest rates then you otherwise would have been given. It is also good to get your card through a bank, rather then a third party. In so doing you will be able to pay you bills easier because you can just log onto your banks site and pay online without having to go through any procedure of linking your third pary card to your account. Plus you'll be not just be building your credit rating, but also history with that exact bank of paying your bill on time. Since that bank might be where you turn for a loan one day, better to have that history with them then with a third party who might not even provide loans. |

Think I'll try to be a little bit more specific than just the provider... I believe Virgin credit card is the best overall (then again I'm not sure about the whole world.. I'm in Sydney though?) but I guess it all comes down to what your spending habbit is like. For example I clear my credit card monthly so the interest rate does not worry me; I opt for a card with a good reward program like the Citibank's series (Had a look at HSBC's but their reward seem to be for grans) as well as one with a decent interest free cycle (Virgin has a 55 days cycle). |

You definitely choose a MasterCard credit card for their streamlined processes and operating regulations that protect its cardholders better. |

I'm partial to my Discover Card; the people in customer service and everywhere are most pleasant to work with; however, knowing that Discover isn't accepted everywhere, i have a VISA through Chase Bank.
I've always felt the customer service and adherence to banking laws by Chase is superior. |

American express blue credit card: Apart from no annual fee feature of the American Blue Express it also gives cash returns on specific purchases. Users of the American Blue Express also enjoy protection against fraud for online credit card transactions. This card tries to right the various wrong notions about the American Express credit cards, one of which is that it is a credit card only for rich or those who have money to keep a credit card. |
