Which is the best credit card, the American Express or discover credit card?
American Express is an excellent credit card to have, as long as a) You plan on paying your whole balance in full each time you use it
b) you don't plan on moving to Martha's Vineyard where they don't accept it.
c) You are prepare to alert them every time you travel otherwise they protect you and don't allow charges to your card outside your country and state even.
Its an excellence choice, with great benefits

i agree with the person that said that visas and mastercards are better because they are more widely accepted..
however, i have found that amex gave me the highest limit of any other cards that i have and they have really good interest too..

Neither - stick with Mastcard or Visa - they are accepted everywhere! AmEx and Discover are not always accepted - especially at smaller retailers, on line shopping. etc.

Amex is not widely accepted globally. I suggest you go for Visa instead.

Neither has the vast merchant acceptance as Visa or MasterCard and Discover is not accepted out of the US. Discover does have their cash back program, but so does my BofA Visa Platinum.

AMEX is better than Discover. Discover sucks, some places don't even take it. AMEX is ok. Visa and Mastercard are best, especially if you travel out of the country.

They used to work the same way. However now American Express has many different types of charge cards to suite many different people. You need a High Credit Score to obtain either card.

Discover is better it is taken more places and has the best cash reward programs they pretty much started the cash back
