Which is the most accurate credit reporting bureau? Trans-Union,Experian or Equifax?

One area of the country tends to use one bureau while another area uses another. It's pretty much local preference or habit.

I can tell you that the most difficult one to deal with regarding inaccurate information is Experian..unless you really stay on them, they are horrible about investigating and deleting inaccuracies. The best seems to be Transunion, and their response time is great. Equifax is somewhere in the middle.

They all 3 handle the major companies the same way. the difference is that smaller companies only use one and it is usually the one more predominant ina certain area. Reporting to all 3 bureaus is simple, but still not done, so you need to look at your region and decide which one is best for your area.

They are just about all the same. I have found that you get the highest score for Experian, the lowest with Trans-union and the highest with Equifax. But, it really depends on whether or not all your creditors report to all three, as some only report to one or two of them. The more good accounts you have with each bureau will enable them to score you the best. But, if you have twelve accounts and only four are being reported to Trans-union and the other two are getting all twelve accounts reported to them, then you will have the best score with one of them and they will be real close to being the same. It works the same way if your accounts are bad are some bad and some good. If one bureau gets all the bad and only a few good then your score will be worse with that bureau. Remember not all creditors report to the same bureaus and this is why most lenders and creditors use the middle score.

vetsmom_rgv
Every time you get credit out they either use one or two of these bureaus. Like us, most of our creditors use Experian. I don't know how exactly, but i think when you're buying a car it's one agency, when you're looking to rent they use trans-union, and dept. stores use another. Just ask when you're going thinking about opening one up, then go and check that report to see you're in good standings with them.

GOOD LUCK!

As far as I know, they are all accurate but they do not all have the same information. You can get a free credit report from each of these companies once a year. But any one of them could have inaccurate information.

all of them are good and bad. It is in you best interest to check your credit report on with all three bureaus every year. It is amazing all the crud that you will find that is not accurate.

Michael T
They are all equally accurate and carry an equal weight when it comes to your credit review by financial institutions. You should however obtain all three reports to make sure your information is correct. Inaccurate information can give you a bad credit rating.

All three of them are good. You need to review all of them. Some credit cards do not have to report to all of them. Some times they have to report to one, or even two, not all report to all three. Therefore when verifying your credit scores, and all your debt it is important to review all three. Mortgage lenders for example, have to pull credit on all three so they can get an accurate score.

One bureau is not better than another, its just that some things get reported to one and maybe not to another.

they are all the same, you have to adverage them

ConsumerCompare
It is important for consumers to monitor their credit report and score across all three of the major credit reporting bureaus as each of them use different processes to aggregate information about your credit history and calculate your credit score.

Additionally, potential lenders all use different methodologies based off of credit report data from all or some of the credit report bureaus to make lending decisions.

The best way to stay on top of your credit is with a credit report monitoring service. Experian, Equifax and TransUnion all offer credit report monitoring services that will automatically notify you when changes post to your credit report. This will help you stay on top of your credit and help prevent identity theft.

Plus, many of the credit monitoring services will give you a complimentary credit report when you sign up.

Finance is what I do for a living and they are all good. The only thing that will make on better then the other is the information that is reported to them.

In my experience, Transunion seems to be the best for auto loans in the State of Oklahoma.
