Here are few things to keep in mind before you apply for a credit card.

It is always better to use a credit card which is issued in your name. The simple reason being, it helps establish credit history for you. Use the correct identity, and get credit card issued for proper name, social security number, and address.

Decide what type of credit card you need and don't get impulsive about obtaining it. Have patience and compare various offers that suit your choice.

The APR of credit card is a very important point not to be missed by any credit card owner. There are various types of APRs, like the 0 intro APR, regular APR, APR for cash advances, APR for purchases, APR for balance transfer etc. These APR contro what interest you pay on your credit card outstanding balances. Get compelte idea about the APRs that will affect you during your credit card ownership.

If you are getting a reward credit card, make sure you know how the rewards will be redeemed and using the credit card at what locations or merchants will help you get the maximum reward benefits. Another thing to watch out is the limitations to the reward program. Check carefully about what limits the rewards like minimum reward points, blackout dates, redemption locations, choice of airlines etc. If you have bad credit then apply online at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/PrePaid_Card.html

If you can pay off the card each month, then you want a card that pays you a rebate. I have a discover card which pays a 1% rebate after you have charged something like $1500 per year. The one that I use most is an American Express card that I obtained through Costco. You get a rbate both from Costco and Amex. The discover card has no fee. The Amex card is no fee also, but you have to pay a Costco membership fee of $100. Ifind it worth while.
You will also need another either visa or Mastre card because not evrybody takes Amex and Discover.

That kind of question has no right or wrong answer. Is this your first card? If not are you heavily in debt? These will all affect the kind of card you will qualify for. Don't get a card that you have to pay an annual fee. I know of a good website that will give you some options. http://www.1-800BadCredit.com
Good Luck!

I would recommend Discover card,no annual fees,at least 1% cash back on all purchases and every few months there is a 5% cash back, sometimes on gas.I have had it for a few years now and I am happy with it.I use it for all my expenses.I am not exactly sure what the interest rate is because I pay it off every billing cycle. It is easier than having to deal with cash all the time. Then you a get cash bonus rewards.I have already got 2 checks for $100 each as well as gift cards, just for using it and there are no catches or anything like that.Of course,it is a matter of preference. You can check discovercard.com.Good luck in your search.

I have two credit cards one is an american express and the other is a mastercard. My Amex has no limit and the downside is what ever you charge in the month is due paid in full the next month. My mastercard has a limit but I tend to pay it off because it will just get you in trouble. I would say if you plan on paying it off I would go with an American Express because they have different cards that let you pay over time but get a lot of benefits. Amex doubles on mine as a Costco card and you can use it there. the downside to amex is some places are prone not to accept it. So if you want it to be accepted more I would recommend a Visa or Mastercard. Thats my thoughts

American Blue Express credit card: Apart from no annual fee feature of the American Blue Express it also gives cash returns on specific purchases. Users of the American Blue Express also enjoy protection against fraud for online credit card transactions. This card tries to right the various wrong notions about the American Express credit cards, one of which is that it is a credit card only for rich or those who have money to keep a credit card.
