Get a secured credit card. This means that you put, say, $500 with the card company and they give you a line of credit for $500.
If you are doing this to build your credit up, remember:
1. pay your bill every month, ON TIME
2. never use more then 20% of the credit limit. If your credit limit is $1000, use ONLY $200 a month. |

go to moneysupermarket.com and fill in the credit check section its free and doesnt go on your credit file once you have filled in the questions it gives you a score then givess you all the companys who will give you a card on your score |

Hi, You can try "Capital One", thanks to my partner, he got a credit card behind my back quite afew years ago now, plus he was using my address to order things and not paying ontime for them. I was paying all my own bills and certainly didnt want his. I had baliffs at my door looking for him and decided enough was enough. I was applying for credit for a new couch at the time, and wardrobes, and couldnt understand why I was getting knocked back since I had a good credit history. Well at least I did before he screwed it up. Thankfully I got intouch with experian and got everything to do with his name against this address, squashed as he had no right to be abusing my address. I heard an advert on the telly about capital one, if you had bad credit history, you can still apply. I got accepted straight away. You are charged £29 each year for having the card, you are also charged interest each month on your balance plus your minimum payment. Do not take the protection out because that is another £15 ontop before you even pay anything. I am sorry in a way that I got one, but it does help if you pay the bill on time and show them that you can pay your bills ontime. After 6 months, as long as you have kept up your payments on time, they will review you credit limit. Please be careful not to go too over board as you will be paying about 20-30 pounds in interest before anything else. Good Luck. |

Its capital one or vanquis but their interest charges are sky high at nearly 40%. They would approve you but give you a very small limit. I would try my best to avaid both of them and try somewhere else first. Try http://www.officialfootballcreditcard.co.uk my credit rating isnt exactly brilliant (I would say average/fair) and I recieved my card few days after filling up the online form. Once you filled up the form, they'il give you a decision within minutes. Sounds like you would be better off not getting one! There is a reason you have bad credit. Getting another card and adding to debt is not going to help. |
