I have also received this email. It is a scam, the place does not exist. DO NOT give your details. I believe they are getting peoples information through seek, under many different job advertisements. Make sure you read through every single bit of info on the job advertisement, and if it sounds like a scam at first... go with your gut instinct, you're probably right! |

yeah. i just got the email aswell. i was a bit confused because it didn't really mention what you were meant to do. on top of that, the name of the sender isnt the same as the name in the reply to gmail address, + there was a alot of grammatical errors.
i'm pretty sure it went thru seek, but its pretty dodgy. seek should do a review to sweep out all the bullshit piggybacking off its service. |

Hi, isn't it funny that seek go..."Oh no, we wouldn't give our your email address"...maybe not knowingly....
But can someone add 2 and 2 together and tell us how all of us here have just applied for random jobs through seek and these spammers have gotten our email addresses??????
So allegedly these scammers would have to have placed up legitimate job adverts costing $165+GST each. I know myself that I dont apply for crap looking jobs... By the way I am applying for IT Manager positions in Melbourne and I got the scam email too!
Lets consider another fact... there are gramatical issues in the job offer email that we are sent. All the jobs I apply for on seek I read and re-read and I would certainly notice crappy grammar etc so I really doubt that the person(s) have actually gone to the trouble of posting up tons and tons of jobs and not being noticed in doing so..
Seek - I think you better check whats going on in your systems, maybe one of your staff is pinching email addresses and selling them to scammers....
hmmmm....
P.S. Seek - please keep your reputation and dont become another faceless, useless organisation like ebay purely because you guys dominate the market... We respect that you guys are good at what you do, we all use the damn site to find a better job etc etc! The other www sites are pretty useless... ever tried searching careerone.com.au for something simple like "IT Manager" in the melbourne area.... Give's you a whole bunch of unrealted jobs... I mean really why am I searching for a type of job again???? |

Yeah. Me too. Did you know that employers can search for people and contact them via seek? I know, as I have had to do this for the company I currently work for. And as for me, the only web site that I have registered with and put my details is seek.com.au. So there is a renagade using seek.com.au.
It's not seeks fault, or anyone elses. The scammer has just used seek as the intermediate and has probably been collecting emails for days! Just delete it and ignore it. The scammer is just "trawling for suckers". ;) Don't be one, and don't let it stop you applying for jobs. Life is a gamble, and sometimes you get bum hands. :) |

have you all applied for a job through seek or a job agency in the last week or so. I got this same email to an address that is used only for jobsearching (Which i have been doing for 2 weeks now). Very wierd.
In my opinion There is a job agency that is selling off personal information to others. I believe that they would have been sent your resume as I have 2 other email addresses that I use for personal and business and neither of them has received this email...
THE ONLY ADDRESS I RECEIVED THIS EMAIL TO IS THE EmAIL ACCOUNT I USE TO APPLY FOR JOBS. AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE ITS ONLY ON MY RESUME!

Well guys I'm also from Australia and i got this email too.
I think we've established that the only way they could've got our details is through Seek. Lucky for us then, that I've only applied for a single job: ACTORS EXTRAS MODELS WANTED: Advertiser: BBMA.
This company has been advertising for the same job regularly for I would say about a month.
Now that I look back on the job ad, its quite vague, and a quick google search shows this so called company to be a talent agency owned by someone called Ziemowit Warchalowski..... o.O WTF.
It's got scam written all over it, but I have no idea what to do about it. Suggestions? |

Hi all, I got this scam mail just now from the id: pascal.kistlern@bid-recruiter.com and they said reply to pascal.kistler@gmail.com - same $1300.00 and 10-12 hours per week!!!
I did a mailbox search for bid-recruiter.com to check if I had applied ...But no!!! I have never applied with them. Then how did they get my ID? So it is a scam!!! I also did a Google search for this domain name, it does not exist and i got this yahoo answers post as a search result. Thanks. Thats why Iam here!!!
Also I apply with NZ/OZ job sites only. So the spammer must be preying on these sites.
So I say, first do a search in your mailbox with the sender's domain name as keyword. The results retrieved will tell if you have applied for this before through a job site. If the result is negative, go and do a Google search with the domain name as keyword, you will get the true story!!! To conclude, before replying to job mails always perform a search on your mail box with the sender's domain as keyword. |

ok the way this scam works is this. You as employee of these criminals receive money into your bank account for payment of some item or another, could be anything. You are then told to send the money on to the criminals supposed head office. If you dont they will sack you as they will suggest that you are dishonest .. so yr sacked and of course you dont get paid the supposed salary
Ok so you have sent the money on to them. suddenly the supposed payee or the person who first sent you the money STOPS THE ORDER and takes his money back. meanwhile you have sent the money on to the thieves. You try and get your money back from them but they dont answer your emails
You are left out of pocket and feeling like your dishonest, a thief, pretty stupid for being conned
My suggestion is dont even reply if they cant provide a phone contact number.. and ring it then check it out on the web
I have an idea of how they get email addresses in Australia however I could be wrong so I wont publish it here |

Hello
I have received the same emails and have reported them to scam watch. I believe they are getting my details from Seek which is a concern. There were advertising jobs on Seek that I reported also, which look to be from the same people. I did not apply for the positions as they were very suspicious, therefore not sure how they got my email address.
If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!!! :) |

Yes i recently got that email i was like YES i got a job, but then i was like where the hell is it? I didn't even apply for it, then i thought i'll search the name and see where it is and thank goodness i found out its a scam early on. I replyed to the first email but now i know not to have anything to do with it. |

Hey guys. My girlfriend got the same email a few days ago also. She asked me to take a look and I picked it as a scam instantly and reported it as such in Gmail. However, I was indeed curious as to where this email came from as she has also been searching for jobs recently, and I was even more surprised to find only this thread with so many recent results.
I know Seek have popped in here on page one of the thread to say that this has nothing to do with their service whatsoever, but the fact of the matter is that my girlfriend has only published this particular email address on Seek. There are also plenty of people on this thread reporting exactly the same thing.
My advice is to delete the email and move on, you can obviously see that this is a fraud. I just wanted to check in and put one more confirmation in here of receipt of this scam email. More importantly, if Seek are indeed monitoring this thread, I want to let them know that even though their PR person things nothing is wrong, it would seem that something has gone awry somewhere and needs to be investigated and fixed.

I received the email. They tell me I am the only one selected. There is a saying if it sounds to be good to be true then it is not true.
Another of many scammers around but I do ask where did they get our email addresses from? |

this is a scam to get all your information so someone can go in and take your information and take your money, I would delete this and move on! Never give them any information |

Yeah and another thing don't ever click on the embedded links in these types of scam e-mails as they are often doctored to take you somewhere other than where the link says and can take you to a site that installs malicious code on your machine. Just a warning if you receive any more in the future. Simply delete them. |

I dont know but my daughter got one too and I am sure interested in finding out more about them. Their company "known all round the world" according to them was founded in 2008...
If anyone has any more information - please share!

I just received an email from Pascal and wondered who in the world is that and I don't remember sending my CV to him. I thought wow this job is too good to be true. Anyhow, I decided to check out the website and I'm so glad I did because then I found out like many of you before me that this whole thing is a scam! I'm so grateful to find out now. Thanks for the question. |

Hi there,
I work for SEEK and will try and provide some answers to your questions as I work within the Compliance Team.
I can confirm that your details were not accessed anywhere on SEEK's database and the emails you are receiving sound a lot like spam emails purporting to be connected to SEEK.
Usually these spam emails contain details of a "job" that involved transferring money on their behalf. We want to warn you that this clearly appears to be a money laundering scam and fraudulent offer. Please do NOT reply to the email you have received and do NOT under any circumstances provide your bank account details.
The company has not advertised with SEEK they are purely attempting to use the SEEK name to appear more legitimate.
How does this happen I hear you ask. Generally, email addresses are harvested by spammers as your registrations or other web based transactions pass through web servers -- they have viruses planted within these servers and these detect email addresses that have been entered into a web based form. The information is extracted and then emailed onto the spammer.
Remember never to give your banking details to anyone online and remain vigilant as a jobseeker.
I hope this helps to clarify things for you all.

Do you know how you got onto their email listing? I "applied for a job" through a well renowned job search website to an agency as a trainer, then I got an email offering me a job as an administrative assistant on great money. Not emailed from the address that I sent the resume to... Not sure. I'm wondering what job I actually applied for now... Keep me posted if you hear anything more, and I'll do likewise.

It really is amazing how many of us have received this email. I ask you all to think when reading the first paragraph; How could you receive a job offer without an interview VIA EMAIL? I saw it in my spam box in my gmail account and thought perhaps it was one of the places I'd applied to saying that they had received my CV. But the rest made no sense; all to vague to be real. Thank the Lord for Google search! I am now running an anti virus scan on my computer, and surprise surprise i have a tracking cookie!!
I suggest you all run the same scan on your computers.
Also, I have half a mind to contact A Current Affair and Today Tonight just for the fun of it... |
