Just that you haven't established enough credit. When I was 18 I started out with just an express(the store) with a limit of 150 bucks and a macy's card (it was bon marche) for the same amount. after a couple of months of keeping up with those I applied for a capital one and got it...You should try to apply for store credit cards. hope that helps |

That means you don't have enough credit on your credit history. You may want to start by getting a credit card from your bank with a low balance and start building your credit that way. They have student credit cards, have you tried applying for those? |

You need to start off with:
store cards
gas cards
After 6 months, then go with the visa/mc
pay your gas/store card in full each month.

Well, if you're twenty one, you are in college, right? Have you payed all your bills and tuition payments? If not, that may be the reason. I think you should check all your payments.
If that doesn't work, try bribing.

You have not established enough credit, do you have a cell phone bill or anything like that.
Try getting a pre-paid card, go to Rushcard.com |

It means exactly what it says: you don't have enough history to judge your abilities on. There are lots of cards out there for people with limited history, apply for those. |

Well, it means, blatantly, that you either owe some sort of debts or you're inexperienced. I wouldn't take it to heart though, as they're really not trusting a lot of people in this huge economic fail. |

You dont have enough credit. i am 21 and just now got one for 500. my husband co signed on a car with me a couple years ago and that built up credit i guess. |

Try to get a prepaid credit card or if you and your parents are on good terms and you won't be tempted, ask if they will add you to their credit card. If you are an authorized signer, you will receive all of their credit history on your credit report too. My parents did it and I have 30+ years of credit history and I'm 21! |

It means that you don't have a large enough credit history for them to determine that you are a good credit risk or not. The housing part has to do with where you live and your living situation~have you moved frequently~live in a dorm~with parents.
Your first credit card is the hardest to get~look online and apply for special "student"credit cards. Those are easier to get then regular cards because they use different guidelines/standards for approving students in school. |

Usually credit card companys like to see credit rating, such as things you have brought and paid off such as a car or a house. Things that you dont buy straight out with cash.
Sometimes it can be the smallest of things like a stereo but if you pay it off and never miss a payment then it all adds up. |

Right now unless you have any credit than you won't be getting a credit card. The economy is too messed up so banks and creditors are taking extreme cautions on approving people.
Your best bet is to try to get a credit card through the college you are at most colleges have a school bank. Other than that you may not get one. It just means that you are still too young to be trusted and that you need to build your history. |

Insufficient credit history means, well, just what it says. You haven't built up your credit yet. I would probably start small. Maybe a Wal-Mart card. Make small purchases, pay them off right away. If you can show creditors that you're responsible they'll be more confident in you.
You also have to remember, our economy isn't that great right now. A lot of companys are being very picky with who they extend credit to. It may just take some time to get yourself started. |
