so now I'm something like 40 grands in the hole. I recently got an okay job making barely enough to pay rent/food/creditcard payments..etc but I dont know why I would want to continue living as there is no reason, I have no friends, the girl I love dont love me, and I am poor

It sounds to me like you have a problem with commitment. You didn't commit to college, you didn't commit to paying your bills. If you really wanted to move out of the city - you would commit to working your a** off - get three jobs and pay off your debt. I don't feel sorry for you - you racked up all the debt - its not like your paying off a medical bill that was unforeseen.
Once you start respecting yourself you will have friends and a girlfriend - pay your bills you are only 21.

Take a second or third job and put every dime of them to your debt. Then after you have that settled, take it and start saving.
Life is not easy and sometimes our own bad decisions make it tougher. But things can get better if only you work for them.
My grandpa once told me to work like everything I do depends on me and pray like everything I do depends on God, that way I will be fine.
And you know what, he was right. I'm currently 1.5 million in debt, the economy is tanking and our customers are shutting their doors, but you know what? Life is good, worth living and dammit there are no do-overs. So I just get up and go to work and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Life will get better, I promise.

first of all dont do anything stupid to yourself everyone has problems you are not the first one but if something doesnt work for you the first time all you can do is keep trying and dont give up the only support system that you have is yourself and if that fails you need to find out what you need to do to lift yourself back up |

first you have to pay off your debt! start small, you are going to have to make sacrifices. save up, don't spend money on things you absolutely need. get a second job.

I'm from Canada too. What equity to you have that you could sell? It will take some time to pay off your debt but it is not all lost. Look at people who are over 2 or 3 hundred thousand in debt due to a home etc.
Seek one of those credit counselling services (free of charge) and they will help you the best.
As far as moving out to the country is concerned, if that is really what will make you happier just start looking for a room and board situation and do it.

I, too, have an enormous debt to work off: $100,000 in graduate school loans. I consider the school debt an investment in myself and I try not to think about it too much. Right now, could you get roommates or live at home with your parents? It seems like the debt will never go away and that you will never achieve your goals when you look at them as one giant task. Consider each goal in steps or quarters and set your goals like that. You will get to where you want to be, but it may not be an immediate reward. Do not give up, you'll see. Good luck!!! |

hard as it is it can get better but it will take hard work. have you considered a second job? devote one check to your living expenses and another to your debts. even a 1000.00 a month part time additional job can help tremendously. do not just pay the minimum amounts on your card as that will get you nowhere. you would only be paying the finance charges added each month. make a payment every week if you get paid weekly. its easier to pay a little out of each check then it is to make one larger payment once a month on the due date. the weekly payment will keep your payments on time avoiding late fees. and do not continue to use the cards. cut them up. keep the account open so that you can keep your credit score from dropping.
as for the girl well there are others. you may love this one but it is a go nowhere situation so find another. one that will love you back. get rid of the negative feelings and you will have no problem finding her.

Over 21?? YES! you qualify to learn to drive TRUCKS. Go to Truck stops ( or travel centers `~!@#$$%^&* ) and get the trucker mags in the drivers areas, maybe outside in the plastic boxes.
Find companies that offer to train you, that will pay for your training for 1-2 years obligation to drive for them.
Sell all you have. Or put in storage. You will need a home address. We have post office box!
Drive 3000 miles a week, or more, spend very little.
You could pay that off in 1-2 years EASY.
then save money.
$145,000 saved, or more, buy your own truck. By then You will know who to drive for in th earea you want to live.
Save your money, invest in stocks that are good.
10 years you have one million US $.
Oh, yeah, study economics and finance. DO NOT ever use credit again.

Life is hard, I think maybe you should not waste money on unneeded things. How did you not pass college though ? Is there anyways you parent and or guardian can help you out a little ? I think you should save up some money and the country is probally cheaper, my parents came to the U.S with me when I was 6 only 1500 dollars, a couple luggages and couldn't even speak the language and they made it, they rented an apartment, bought a car and got jobs withing a week. Just keep searching and don't give up, as for friends play a community sport where you don't have to pay and you can find friends there, for girls I don't think you should be worried about that right now, and I don't think you should waste money (if you do) with beers, ciggarrets, -drugs.
You don't need a computer for life you should sell it, maybe do a garrage sales with things you don't need. After you earn some money than move to a country, go by car it's cheaper. |

The best part is - you got a dream. If you got a dream, this means you can make it happen. All you need to do now is change your thinking. A job won't pay your debt any time soon. So don't focus on that. I suggest you go to nearest bookstore and get a book on how to start your own business. Or you can learn to do foreclosures, you can pay off everything after only one successful transaction. With the next one you can move to the country, or as you like. See, there are other ways than working, but first you need to see it and change your thinking. What you see is what you get. Follow your dream, focus on it and the results will show.
