jagjug | Why are Credit Card holders always given better treatment like gifts, points, offers etc, ? |
I observe that now-a-days Credit card holders are given preferential treatment at Malls, Hotels, Shopping arcades, Tourisms offices, Banks, etc, etc, like special offers, gifts, moneyback offers, card-points etc. No discounts are available to people like me who do not like to own a Credit card and prefer to settle things by way of Cash. |

This is a trick by the card companies to get them to spend more on their cards so they can be fleeced out of more and more interest. I would rather keep my money safe than have cheap trinkets and meaningless offers; stuff credit cards- its just profiteering from those who can't afford it, like the Lottery. |

because they will never get out of owing money |

The more you spend on their cards the more points you get towards those gifts. They just want your business. They make so much $$ off of you it is ridiculous! |
|

JennyJ

None of that stuff is really free or discounted its all paid by the ridiculous amount of interest each card holds. And they might get slightly better treatment, but that's because the more you spend, the more you owe them, the more money they make. |

It's the credit card companies giving the rewards. Why would they reward somebody that doesn't use their card? |

There is no such thing as a free lunch, most credit card users pay high interest rates, if you pay cash not only do not pay interest but you should also be able to negotiate a lower price, at the end of the day the cash buyer is $$$$ ahead. |

Beats me! They credit hard holders has no idea how much interest they are paying for the little money they borrowed from banks. LOL
They sugarcoat it with VIP treatments and gifts so that to lure them to borrow more. |

Because if U owe them money they love U & can make yet more money from gullible borrowers. |

if you use you credit card you get extra point each time that you use you card as a credit you get points that what i think. |

They are all incentives for people to get credit cards. I don't have one either, but you know what, I don't feel bad about missing out on those offers because they aren't really free. They may not pay for it, or they may get discounts, but they are charged interest on those cards. So they are paying money out for nothing. It all equals out in the end I'm sure. |
|

Because we pay a lot of interest for those points..... so its not really worth it.... |

don't worry they are just teasers to make the ppl useing their cards....usually thoses presents have no real value... |

Because the status of your credit card tells people who much money you have. If you have a regular credit card, whatever, if you have a Platinum/Gold, people will be nice to you. |

Usually, the gifts are junk and you don't really want to have it. I found that most of the thing given discounts are from a higher price than on store. Don't think you are second class because you don't have credit card. Cash is the King. |

Very interesting, I was not aware of this.
I can see that at hotels & car rentals they have your card No. incase there is damage, they can go back and charge you more on the credit card.
I can only guess that in small shops they may not like to have cash because:
1. Higher potential for robbers or "hold ups"'
2. Employees may be able to steal money easier ,or
3. Employees don't know how to give change. |
|

sugaree

it's an incentive to get them to use the cards. what's available to you is not being tied to a monthly credit card bill with the interest payment that goes along with it, that's the advantage you have. |
|

By choice, like you, I don't have a credit card either. Maybe the credit card companies and places that accept credit cards give out freebies and stuff because they pity the poor, debted idiots who use them.
If I don't have CASH for something, I don't get to buy it. It's my personal philosophy...more people should look into it! |

credit card companies are enticing people to use them. People with credit cards are 3times more likely to spend than cash shoppers. |

Credits cards gives you more clout and clout in turn gives you more spend power more spending power buys more of their products which in turn creates more credits card catch my point ..... |
|

paj

Because they're getting throwbacks off the credit card companies interest rates. The customers are actually buying their own "gifts". |
