So many people buy stuff when they don't have the money for it. The only thing I owe money on is college, and I've been out for almost 3 years now. I have a couple used cars and I rent, so I don't owe on those things. The renting part isn't so good since I don't build equity, but otherwise I'm doing great. Living beyond your means is a bad practice.

Goldenrain
It's easier to spend money than the self-control it takes to spend within your means, the instant gratification gives a temporary lift, everything costs too much and, we make too little.

because there are no keep the LENDERS in check.

they'll gladly take your life away when you can't pay your debt. can't always blame the person-because in all reality if you were given a 1 million dollar credit line at 19-WOULD YOU TURN IT DOWN?

well now scale that down to reality-and you'd see why so many are in debt now.

malicous lenders giving to STUPID KIDS.

silvercomet
Because it's no longer fashionable to live within one's means.

People want to live outside their means. They look for validation in material goods and want to impress everyone around them.
