Why do some employers require you have good credit in order to be hired?????

because they feel more confident that you will not steal from them,,,,,,
this is true especially if you are to handle money

also a good credit rating represents that you take care of your personal business and know how to manage it and hence its a reflection on yourself of your skills

having good credit show responsibility !!

thewindowman
FIRST OF ALL , RESPONSIBILITY. IT SHOWS THAT YOUR TRUSTWORTHY. IF CREDITORS ARE ATTACHING YOUR PAYCHECKS THAT'S COSTLY TO THE EMPLOYER BECAUSE ACCOUNTING HAS TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS, ETC
GOD BLESS

kyfaith01
Good credit reflets on your level of responsiblity and also they want to know you don't have bad history either with their company or with their business partners.

A lot of time, especially in the financial world, how you handle your own person money reflects a lot about your character. If you have good credit, employers see you as a responsible person who has made good choices.

I know!! That is so stupid!! They are missing out on some really good employees! If you think about it that is kinda a form of discrimination!

Super question...I don't think my credit score should have anything to do with being hired or not. I passed up two jobs that said they would need to run my credit report and I said that's not any of your business and walked out. My current job has turned out to be better than the other 2, so I'm glad I stood up for myself and denied their request. Someone told me that if you apply to a credit card company to be a csr then they will always ask to run your credit report. I still don't think it should be needed and I will continue to say no! Too many companies are demanding that you give them permission to run credit ck.for just about everything and I think that is just plain WRONG!

Security Risk management, you are more likely to be a crook or make poor business decisions if you are bad with your own money.

Most employers do not review your credit unless you sign an authorization form that allows them to investigate your credit report and history. This is sometimes done along with a background check.

This solely depends on the employer and if your job deals with handling money or accounts they will check this info before you are hired.

Check out this link to find out more details regarding the Fair Credit Reporting Act: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Credit_Reporting_Act

If you are concerned about your credit you should obtain a copy and review it on a yearly basis to prevent errors.

God Bless....

So they have some background information on you. They figure that a good credit score means you are a more responsible person.

Having good credit demonstrates to a potential employer that you are a responsible individual. If you can handle your personal finances it's a sure bet that you'll make a productive, responsible employee.

It shows them that you would be good with management of time and finances, and have priorities...however, it's not always accurate since almost everyone encounters credit problems at some point, plus credit reports are often times inaccurate! So I really don't believe it's fair

Basically, so that they know how responsible you are. If you're not responsible enough to pay your bills how responsible will you be as an employee?

Never heard about this ! This is news to me

Because a person with bad credit is more likely to steal. Most jobs that require you to handle money (like a bank) will check your credit. There are other reasons too, check out the link below.

I dunno - but what I do know is that any potential employer who demands my credit history can take his job and shove it!

In case the company starts to go under, then they can get you to take out a loan for them.

Luckys Charm
your credit should have nothing to do with your work experience.

?
because they want a**holes just like them
