A footballer (any sports star) or actor makes so much money because of volume. Thousands or millions of people are willing to pay a lot of money by either going to the games/movies and paying directly or by watching them on TV and buying the advertised or endorsed products.
Any job that handles custom orders is naturally a low volume business/profession and as such has a low cap for earning potential. Nursing is a custom care profession.
If you could find a way that one nurse could handle 1000+ people at the same time with the same care then the salaries would be much higher.
To put it another pay one football team can entertain 30 or 40 million (guesstimate) people per year and each one of them is willing to pay either directly or via the products they purchase $20 per year for that entertainment totaling $800 million which is divided among the disproportionately over the team, management and ownership. So a top footballer might make $30 million a year. One nurse can handle maybe a thousand patients a year, so for a nurse to make the same money each patient would have to pay $30,000.
(Obviously i am from the US so the specific numbers might not be appropriate but the concept still applies). |

They make more money, Because their act of playing football builds their fan base, that spends money, which in turn is millions, upon millions more then than a nurse generates. The people who get the most money are the ones who's job brings in the most money. Capitalist society has no rewards for altruism. It only rewards people who generate more capital. (this is also why a business man who sells anything will typically make more than the the people who make whatever he or she is selling. |
