No it won't lower your score. Your score is only lowered when someone runs a report on you, not when you check it on your own. And a good one is anything above 700 in my experience.

No, I think 650 or so is average.

No it will not lower your score, but if credit agencies such as mortgage companies, or credit card companies check your credit continuously it will lower your credit score. The average American credit score is between 680-700, but a really good score is above a 750.

I have no experience in this matter, but I would assume it won't lower your credit score.

Yes, any time anyone pulls your credit scores, it decreases your score by a few points...

A good score is anything between 675-800, 800 is the highest you can get...

you are allowed to ask for a credit report once a year, without it hurting your score. or get a copy each time you apply for credit, but each time your credit check is ran that will lower your score unless you are applying for a mortgage. An average score is anything above at least 620, but the best scores are in the 700's and up.

When you personally ask for your own score, it will not hurt your rating.

It only hurts when someone else asks for it and you get denied credit or a loan.

cosmic-angel
it won't lower your score, but its kept on a record, how many times you ask for a report. not that it really matters, don't know what a good score is sorry.

No. A good score is anything above 800.

I've asked professionals this and the answer is not unless you are doing it multiple times (it raises the question..why? to creditors). Personally, my credit score is around 750...I'm 24 and I own a house and I'm married and the house is the only debt. I would assume that the average is around 650.

Viewing your own credit report has NO effect on the score.

A good score starts in the mid-600's. Here's more info: http://www.thetruthaboutcreditcards.com/credit-score-range/

The official website for a free credit report is https://www.annualcreditreport.com/. You can get a free report from each of the three bureaus once a year. You can check it more often, but only one per bureau, per year is free. Sites like FreeCreditReport.com are just trying to sell you something.

When other people/companies pull your credit, it is called an "inquiry". Your score is dinged a few points per inquiry, because it indicates that you are planning to use more credit.

It doesn't look very good to have too many inquiries on your report, so don't apply for credit you don't need.

A lot of these other answers sound like guesses, so be very careful what you base your decisions on. Your credit is one of your most valuable assets!

Yes, each time a credit reference is logged, it lowers your score. Your score can range from abot 300-900. A good credit score can range between 600-650. The average American has a credit score of 678.

no it will not lower it but be careful most services promise a free report *** where the asterisks mean you actually have to sign up for a pay service adn then cancel it right away

Unbalanced
