Will i go to jail if i used some one credit card and i spend 2080 of it?

yes YOU WILL DO TIME
this is in florida but the felony rate is the same in most states
also you will face identity theft for claiming you are someoneelse when you use the card and also credit card theft all 3 are felonies
get a good lawyer and you may not do any time
unless you try to pay them with the credit card

Clients charged with misdemeanor or felony theft face both short and long-term consequences if convicted. Talk to a theft defense attorney at The Owens Law Firm in Tampa, Florida about how aggressive representation may help you avoid conviction on a theft charge and the serious consequences which can result from a conviction. Our goal is always to obtain the best possible outcome in your case, given your unique circumstances.

Misdemeanor theft is anything stolen valued at under $300. Anything above that amount and your charge becomes a felony. At The Owens Law Firm Link, we have represented clients charged with everything from shoplifting by college students to high-level felony larceny, and from identity theft to burglary by career criminals. Theft crimes also include employee theft, laptop theft, credit card theft, and failure to return rented or leased property such as an automobile.

The jail time and fines involved are severe, depending on the value of the item or items that were stolen. After your prison sentence or probation is over and all the fines have been paid, the theft conviction can still follow you. If you ever appear back in court, either as a witness in a trial or as a defendant in another criminal proceeding, that "crime of dishonesty" can be used to impeach you. Your credibility is immediately in question. Applying for and landing any type of job—especially those that involve the handling of money or valuables—can be an uphill battle with theft charges on your record.

Your theft attorney at our firm will build your case and review all records related to your arrest. If your rights were violated due to an illegal search and seizure, we will immediately move to have any evidence related to that suppressed. We will also talk to the prosecutors about mitigating your sentence, possibly by having a felony reduced to a misdemeanor or seeking probation as opposed to a jail sentence.

I can not believe you would comproise your freedom for a mere $2,080!

I mean, come on. If you are going to steal the card and use it for illegal purposes, the least you could do is RESEARCH the amount of jail time you must serve for the related offense.

Gee whiz.

what is soo important that you would risk your freedom for....
Jail is the least of your worries

what about the TRUST that you have violated and the record that you will have accquired for yourself

Read on yahoo answers to find many people who cannot find employement due to some stupid theft when they were 20.

Some people wont hire ANY felons
and there are some professions that wont allow you in

Yes. There's a term for that -- besides stealing, it's fraud.

In some areas it is a felony depending on dollar amount defrauded, and you can do state time. If this is your first offense and it is not a felony in your area, you will probably just get probation and community service.

Congratulations, welcome to criminal life.

posting this question was a bad idea if thats what you did, if they investigate they can request your Ip and info from yahoo and its permitted even though its unconstitutional we are under the patriot act because we are in a war, so the constitution doesnt apply! Anyways what you did is terrible, I hope you do get caught and I pray that you will, haven't you ever heard of Karma? its going to come back at you twice as bad, probably alot of jail time for fraud and theft, which is a felony. Plus the guy can press charges on you, anyways if any of the places you went to to spend your card had cameras the investigators will track it and find out who you are, if you made online purchases they will track your ip, or if you entered any info when buying it they will know, and catch you, PUT you in jail where you belong!

GG
yeah but unfortuantely credit card fraud is usually never fully and thoroughly investagted. if this is a family member or friend, go to them and beg for mercy
