The adult webcam site attempted to charge 35 dollars for shows I previously viewed because I had unknowingly surpassed the amount of money I had left on my prepaid visa debit card, but all attempts were declined. This was about 6 months ago and the debt is still unpaid. I have yet to hear anything from the site nor have they attempted to charge me again and my question is will this somehow adversely affect my credit? The site doesn't have my social security number but the wal mart debit card has that information. And I also did not use my actual name or address on the webcam account. The only valid information I gave was my prepaid wal mart debit card number and my alternate email address. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you should be hearing from a collection agency after the sixth month...but because you gave false info, they may not be able to reach you anytime soon. All they have to do is connect the visa card to your wal mart card. Better hope they don't try and charge you for giving false info if they find you. May want to check your credit reports just in case, you don't want it to come as a surprise. If nothing is on there after say 9 months then you should be in the clear.

You and your hand can rest easy.. I am sure they aren't going to hunt you down.
Just know you stole from the girl(s) you ordered around to entertain you and they didn't get paid to talk to your broke behind.
Please stay away from pay to view live cam sites. Those girls are trying to earn a living and when your card gets declined..guess what? They don't get paid for acting like they were having fun entertaining you. |

The debt is between you and the company. They can, if they choose, place a claim with a collection agency for collection of the debt. (fair debt collections practices act) The collection agency has the right to contact your other creditors (including the merchant servicing bank for your account) in an attempt to locate you, to get your name, address, phone numbers, etc. With that information, they can request a credit bureau be pulled on you to determine whatever other information they need, and they can give all of this information back to the original creditor who has the right to report losses to a credit reporting agency (fair credit reporting act). The collection agency can't report your credit, but they can make inquiries which don't exactly look so good to a future credit lender. For $35 bucks, I'd write an apology letter and a teller check or money order to them. |
