With respect to credit card debt, whats wrong with transferring balances to a 0% card that has no xsfer fees?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Just pay yours off transferring the balance to it, then while you are paying no interests, pay off as much as you can.

nothing it's smart, your borrowing for free as long as you pay the balance before the offer expires.

Nothing is wrong with it as long as its paid off before the 0% becomes a variable rate. Usually 0% is only for 1 year from transfer. If you don't pay off entire balance before temp rate is up you will have to deal with very high rates. Sometimes as high as 26 - 45% and thoes rates will bury you in debt.

worked wekk for me once with 2k transferred and paid it down before the year grace period. so long as you don't run up both cards you're straight.

Nothing wrong! Credit card balance transfer is one of the preferred ways to get rid of credit card debt and is used by many people to get immediate relief. Credit card balance transfer essentially means that we transfer our outstanding balances from a high APR credit card to a credit card which offers low APR's. A 0% Intro APR credit card is the preferred credit card to transfer balances, but because of the widespread misuse of such credit card offers, credit card companies have withdrawn all such offers.

Indeed balance transfer saves a lot of money and can save things from going worse, but many people simply don't know the right way to do balance transfer. This article takes a look at the correct process to initiate and complete the balance transfer. I think that it can be safe to say that it is a great method of getting a free loan, but be careful of what happens when that 0% rate ends. Credit Card companies rarely offer you something for free without having a catch at the end. Make sure that if you don't pay off the entire amount that there aren't any fee's, hugh interest rates, or other types of catches that could put you in a worse situation.

Nothing. It can be used to the consumers advantage, if it is done wisely. Just remember, most cards offer a time period when offering 0% or no transfer fee. Compare interest rates AFTER the expiration, if you are not going to be able to pay off the balance within that time period. If the interest rate is lower afterwards, it is STILL a good deal. All this also depends on which (if either) charges an annual fee.

There is nothing wrong with that. It is a great way for you to get that debt reduced while you aren't paying any interest.

you should check with the credit card company to see if you can even do that (are allowed by their rules)
