Would we all be better off if we take out a loan we will never afford to pay back?
I don't take loans and don't owe the bank but I think we should just take all they offer buy some shares in the local ganja grower and make some profits from drug dealing.

The banks are criminal so we should just beat them at their own game, the more we can borrow the more we can make. No-one in government loses as usual the police can raid the joint and re-sell on the street again, as they were so to speak.

I reckon its worth the risk.

Just tell them you want to start a gardening business and stick them amongst the plants in the private grounds of the house you can't afford.

Sorry ole Bea' but the gold market is shortly going to be stitched up too.

Well, we should all take the Banks shining example of Fiscal Manipulation on board, and borrow huge amounts of money, to "play" the international markets, or the Gee Gees, or whatever, (personally, I like a few Hands of Nine card Brag) and then, when it all goes Nips up, we can get a "Bail out" from our Sympathetic Governments.
You'd have to open up a few more (D)SS Offices to cope with the amount of People claiming "Bailout benefit", and doing it this way, the claiments could be kept off the "Unemployed and Claiming Jobseekers Allowance" figures. But yeah, seeing as we're in a Credit Crunch, 10 out of 12 Adverts on Daytime TV are either trying to lend you money, spend your House, or supply "Bogus Injury Lawyers 4U" so Hit 'em for as much as they'll let you, people, and then tell the Baaliffs to Bugger off, cos its all spent, when they come knockin. Or take advantage of the "Piece of Govt Legislation, that lets you write of a large amount of what you owe,"
Or see Carol Bloody Voorderman for a "Consolidation Loan", and have everything rounded up into "one easy monthly payment." For the rest of your life.
Either way, it's not like its real Money, is it? You can't eat it, or wear it, and it's only got any value at all, because we all agree that it's worth something, and intrinsically, it's worthless. It's not even any use to wipe yer @rse on,at the end of the day. So play away,Kiddies, it may be crooked, but it's the only Game in town!

Oh, and Moley,The Leb was generally a distinctive Red colour.
*****intolerably smug expression creeps across face,(not very attractive)*****

You is a genius sister you could also buy some nice old fashioned squidgy Lebanese black and some Peruvian marching powder.

And some of the red stuff of course

The dark side
It fascinates me that we appear to have gotten into this whole mess because we have spent decades spending money we don't have, borrowing more than we can afford to repay to buy things which we don't need and which often turn out to be bad for our health.

We have done this on a world scale...all Western democracies are suffering the same complaints! We have done it at the household level and at Government level. I mean... China has been lending the US money for this war since the war began!!@ We can't even afford to fund our own army!!

And NOW they tell us that the way out of the mess is to maintain "Consumer Confidence"...and keep spending money we don't have on things we don't need, that are probably bad for us!!

WTF???

I truly believe they are just trying to squeeze the last drop of blood from the dying beast...the consumer...as Extreme Capitalism collapses in on itself.

Convert your cash to gold and stones...and bury it!! Is my advice. The economy can't go on like this. It just can't!

Just wanted to THANK YOU for a great analogy. :)

A loan is worth the trouble if it actually does something - creates and adds value to the society at large with potential to grow. If it does nothing but attempts to keep the status quo, the quo being the wretched state of affairs greed, fraud, and the gulf between the haves and have-nots, have created, then leveraging public expenditure to keep the wealthy more wealthy, and the incompetent at their posts is, for want of a better word, insane.

(On a national bail-out scale, No, of course we would not be better off - although some in the favoured industries would undoubtedly be able to keep their jobs. It's a gamble on a scale that is history-making, and all on the premise that the babies yet unborn will be able to pay it off, or at least fool the consumers for another 8 years not to lose their confidence. Money, money, money. Vulgar, Ostentation, Injustice. Whatever happened to living a quality life? - Access to free health, education, unpolluted food, and peace of mind? I thought THOSE were the things I've been working for, and paying my taxes for all my life. )

Actually yes --- yes we would

All of us in the North America should get a lot of money out of the bank via loans and wait for the government to de - monitize it meaning those worthless pieces of paper are no longer money

But ---- you still own the crap you bought with the banks money while it was still money

Something will have to replace the currency when this one falls flat on it's face and this new currency will have to be at least temporarily debt free to be worth a dam thing

So yes ---

Everyone run to the bank and ask --- just how much of this worthless sh--t will you let me have - so I can spend it as fast as I can before it is declared not money any more ?

The purchase of shares in your local community would be a great idea. Any market can be successful, just look at the second life community. They have they're own exchange rate. I'd love you to talk in our forums, it's a free non-company backed community. Just try it out, we need more people like you.

Your bst suggestion yet. Thanks. BUt i am too late in life to take advantage, at 88 no one will give me a loan that big. What a shame.

VENI VIDI VIDIC
I think one of the reasons the banks are in such a mess is that they aren`t getting back money they have lent, because of record IVA`s and bankruptcies. In the long run we are all suffering.
