Would you recommend a Discover card or American Express?
I have a Visa and i was looking to get another card. I'm 23 and have good credit. I don't have excessive debt. I just wanted to get a 2nd credit card. Would you recommend discover or Am. Express?

American Blue Express Credit Card : Apart from no annual fee feature of the American Blue Express it also gives cash returns on specific purchases. Users of the American Blue Express also enjoy protection against fraud for online credit card transactions. This card tries to right the various wrong notions about the American Express credit cards, one of which is that it is a credit card only for rich or those who have money to keep a credit card.

Getting this card will also give you access to various other cards from American Express. American Express targets people of different styles and tastes. There is an appropriate American Express card for everybody in the family. The company also wants to target a niche market for credit cards, especially women and the youth. With this aim in mind, the American Blue Express was created.

I have a discover, but I do not use it for carrying a balance EVER. No matter what. I use a mastercard or visa if there is even the slightest chance of having to carry a balance.

Given the choice between the two, I'd pick American Express. Discover has some nice perks, but I almost never find a vendor that accepts their card.

American Express is sometimes hard to find as well. Some vendors still remember years ago when they would charge so much per transaction fee. American Express lowered their fees, but some vendors won't go back to them.

You should get a MasterCard...which is Visa's rival. MasterCard is more popular than Visa now (in fact, my credit card company converted my Visa into an American Express, so now I need to go find a Visa).

I'd recommend Discover. More places accept Discover than AmEx. This may depend on where you live as I've seen others claim Discover isn't widely accepted.

Get a discover card over amex, master, or visa and ill tell you exactly why. First of all Discover has no annual fee. Secondly Discover card has the most potential for cashback rewards out there. You must also understand you are going to get about the same interest rate with any card you get, and you will also be charged interest on outstanding balances on any card as well. A lot of cards give you introductory interest rates for about 6 months but dont let that talk you into a card. Now there is also a new lawsuit that was set from amex and discover, to where in the next year all merchants have to legally accept all 4 major credit card companies. So all in all Discover card is going to be the cheapest, save you the most money, and be the most honest along with better customer service than the rest.

actually neither;they're both moreso debit cards where you are supposed to pay the entire balance to not be charged interest fees;ask your bank about other credit cards.

It is probably better to get a Mastercard because Visa and Mastercard are the most popular brands followed by Am Ex and then Discover. Am Ex has some very nice perks and rewards and an outstanding customer service. However, Am Ex is usually the most difficult of the cards out there to get and they get really antsy if you don't manage your card well. Unless you have a pre-approved offer from Am Ex, I wouldn't apply. Discover is also good but it is not accepted everywhere in the US and outside US, it has almost no visibility. I would suggest Visa, Mastercard first and then Am Ex and then Discover.

I would suggest neither. Credit cards and the fico score was designed for one thing. To get people into debt and keep them there. Once you get a high fico score. You have to keep borrowing money and making payments on time to keep your score high. You stay in debt.

The more you play the game. The more likely you'll get deeper and deeper into debt. Then you miss a payment and have bad credit. Thats when you can't get an apartment or a home loan. You can with no credit score.
