hi there, about 2 years ago my partner phoned kwik fit home insurance to start buildings and contents insurance with them, so first off the guy at kwik fit asked my partner how much would it cost to rebuild our house should it fall down (LOL), they didnt even have an average figure and expected my wife to know this so that they could set an insurance balance to pay, they ended up setting an insurance quote for 135 thousand pounds, then came the home contents insurance, after all this was sorted out over the phone they took their initial payment and that was that all sorted my wife thought.....but oh no......i found out a week later that even though my wife had stated to them that our house was secured with 5 lever window locks and alarm system they had in fact put down on the insurance policy for home contents insurance that the house was NOT secured by window locks or house alarm therefore raising the cost of the contents insurance, when i discovered this i told my wife to cancel the insurance because we were in fact still within the legal timeframe to do so, around 3 months later when my wife was checking her bank balances for the three months she discovered that kwik fit had in fact carried on taking the money even though the policies were cancelled so she contacted the bank and had the direct debits for kwik fit stopped. Now here is the fun part, after no contact from them now for over 2 years kwik fit have gone and sold our debt to a debt collections agency saying that we still owed them a cost of 68 pounds and we have now recieved a first letter from this company stating that if we do not pay this amount within the timeframe of ten days then it will be passed to their solicitors, We do not owe this money to kwik fit in fact if anything THEY owe us... we now dont know were to go from here.......do we just pay the 68 pounds and leave it at that or is there a way to sort this out and maybe even get back the money WE are owed ian UK
