steve J | 13 yrs ago I got a 10 yr primerica life policy. They are still taking money out of my bank, can I get it back? |
they did not ask my permission to do so. and my bank couldn't not stop the payment. my wife called them while I was overseas and they wouldn't stop. Is it legal for them to keep taking my money without my permission? |

they might have done negative option billing, where the old policy rolls over upon expiration.
You must contact them to stop the withdrawl. Keep copies of all correspondance. You should send something registered mail. So you have a paper trail.
If they still don't stop the withdrawls, your bank will need you to sign an affadavit indicating that Primerica no longer has your authorization and they can stop the automated withdrawls. (They cannot refund you the 3 years payments) |

Of course they've had permission to do so - YOU are the guy who gave them the routing and account numbers in the first place!!
They can't STOP it, until the policy owner has requested them to cancel the policy, IN WRITING, and it might take as long as six weeks for the withdrawals to stop.
If you've already notified them IN WRITING, file a complaint with your state insurance commissioner - the state you were in when you started the policy. All of them have web sites, and the complaint addresses are all posted. INclude a copy of the request to cancel your policy, and the date sent, with your complaint.
You're not entitled to refunds from premiums paid that cover the past three years. That's just like asking for a refund on your lottery ticket, because it wasn't a winner. |

I am a rep of Primerica. Mbrcatz1 has it correct, you must contact them to cancel your policy and send written authoriztion to do so. It automatically renewed the policy to continue coverage. If you had not been interested in renewing it you should have contacted the rep that provided the product or their RVP, they could have provided the proper information to cancel it. 3 years is a long time to pay for anything you do not want. Call 1-800-737-5759 that should get you where you need. Also P.C. the renewal is in 5 year periods after initial term know before speaking and also Primerica had paid out $2 million dollars per day on death claims in 2006 not to bad for a black sheep huh? Of coarse I can go on but theres no point, PFS prob. took a bunch of your business and you received charge backs, Good day |

once again, a case of how AL Williams changed my whole life!
If you can't get it stopped by your bank - change banks. If the draft won't go thru, you'll get a bill or perhaps a quarterly bill for payment. Send a letter to Primerica to cancel your policy, cc: your Department of Insurance and send both certified.
Good luck and hope this helps! |

close you bank acct and open a new one - I doubt you'll get any prior pmts back - those paid for insurance coverage and once that time passes, you can't get a refund |

You now have a 1 year increasing term policy. Once your 10 year policy ended, without your notice of cancellation, any insurance company will roll you over into a 1 year term policy. It's pretty standard. If you have been unsuccessful in contacting them to cancel the policy and stop the automatic withdrawals from your account, I would recommend contacting your state's insurance board to file a complaint. Primerica has been somewhat of a black sheep among life insurance companies in the past. I don't think you will be able to get any money back. I'm sure this was all written in your original life insurance contract from 13 years ago so their behinds are covered. |
