Go find a "like quality" item - just like the clothes you had on & bring them the price... Even if you don't buy it...they owe you the $ to replace what they ruined.
The cost of the item may have gone UP since back when you purchased it & it's none of their business if you replace it!
Bring them a write-up from any department store of what replacing the item would cost & bring it to them. They should give you the $ to replace your clothes they ruined! |

I would be mad too, but are you seriously thinking of taking your hairdresser to court to be compensated for her getting bleach on your clothes? I mean, seriously? If its just based on principle alone, just don't go to that hairdresser anymore. If she loses your business then that would end up costing her a heck of a lot more money in the long run then paying you actual cash value for your clothes. And tell her that. If she's smart, she should either pay you for your clothes or give you the next couple of cuts for free. If she isn't willing to do that, I don't know why you'd want to go to her in the first place. |

The question of the receipt is simply about proving your loss.
If you begin proceedings, you will be required to prove how much you lost, ie the cost of the clothing. If you don't have a receipt, then you would simply give verbal testimony that the clothes cost £x. If you say where you bought them and are able to show how much similar clothes cost, then the cost of the clothing is unlikely to be challenged. Courts would not expect normal people to keep receipts, so as long as you don't claim something outrageous eg a shirt for £500, then you'll be fine. |

it`s like most places they aren`t responsible for these accidents, I always go to the hairdressers in old clothes whether I`m having a colour or just cut and blow in case of accidents |

Get replacement receipts, and let them know how old the garments were. They can deduct for depreciation. If they do not, send them a letter and ask them to refer your claim to their General Liability carrier. They will handle it for you. |

Go to the citizens advice and tell them what happened. No one could expect you to keep every receipt just in case. |

You don't wear good clothes to get your hair colored in. SMART people put on something old to get there hair done in. It's YOUR fault that your shirt is messed up. So stop being a baby and leave the hairdresser alone. I would not pay you back either. Not even Judge Judy would give you crap for this case. She would call you dumb and tell you to get out and stop wasting her time.
The women next to you??? That does not sound possible. I think you are just trying to make yourself sound not at fault. |

Start proceedings in the small claims court. They'll pay up as soon as they get the summons. |

Easy answer - go replace the clothing with identical stuff and give them the receipts! |

"It's the principle"
Bull hockey.
It's the money.
If it was just the principle.....you would just take your business elsewhere.
Besides...the loss is even less than you think. They do not owe you the replacement cost of the clothes. The owe you the actual cash value. What you could have sold that article of clothing for. So, if you were going to hold a yard sale or sell the article on E-Bay, how much would it sell for (not how much would you ask for it)...that is the amount of your loss. |
