No, not for the death benefit of the policy. As long as your the beneficiary. IF there were another beneficiary, that paid out to you or others, it would be considered a gift, and is taxable.
Also, any interest received after depositing the benefit is taxable. |

Anyone that tells you life insurance benefits are taxable are wrong. In no circumstance that I am aware of is life insurance benefits taxable. The only thing that comes close is if you have a cash accumulation life policy that is accessed before death. You do report the income but it's not taxable. |
