Don't you have "comprehensive" coverage, aka, fire coverage, on YOUR policy? If you have fire coverage, YOUR policy should pay, unless the damage is under the deductible.
If you DON'T have fire coverage, then no, you don't have coverage, your company doesn't HAVE to pay. You don't get coverages that you don't pay for.
Your agent should have explained that to you. |

They should as long as you had comprehensive insurance on your car which covers fire damage. |

If you have comprehensive coverage, then your policy will pay for your damages. Then YOUR insurance company will go after the individual responsible for restitution in a process called Subrogation. The party that is responsible will ultimately have to pay up. |

It depends on your cover, if you have fully comprehensive they should pay. If you have third party, fire and theft they should pay because it's fire damage. If you have third party only they def wont pay up. |

I don't understand why your insurance co. wouldn't pay, unless you only have liability coverage.
If you don't have comp on your policy, I believe you're shi* out of luck. Fire damage falls under comp. If you don't have comp, I'm not sure if your uninsured motorist coverage would kick in. If you have full coverage, your insurance company should pay the claim, unless there's something you're not telling us. What is the reason your insurer will not pay? |
