You need to READ THE SMALL PRINT ON YOUR POLICY, It may have age restrictions i.e does not include drivers under 25 years old, And IF you are covered it will almost certainly be 3rd party ONLY for her car.
Ignorance would be no defence if you have an accident or are stopped by the police. |

It is best to ask your insurance agent.
I was driving my sister-in-laws car which I was not insured on when someone ran a stop sign and hit me.
When speaking with the insurance adjuster they stated that though my personal injuries would not be covered (because my name wasn't on the insurance policy) the damage to the car would be as the car is insured no matter who is driving it.
That was with a State Farm Policy but again, you need to call your agent. |

If your girlfriends insurance is a "named Insured" policy then you are not covered unless you are named on the policy. If she had "permissive use" then you are covered.
State Farm has permissive use and so do most of the big carriers. But you have to call her agent to be sure. |

you should be if your over 25 but best to check with your insurance company and remember you will only be covered for 3rd party, minimum legal requirement. |

If your cover note names you as the driver of your girlfriends car then yes you are insured to drive it but if you check the policy you might find only you are insured and damage or injury for others the car itself might not be insured against damage ? |

Depends on your age and your policy.
If you are fully comprehensive on your own car AND over 25 then yes, you should be insure but do check with your insurance company.
If you are under 25 then definately not.
If you are a named driver on her insurance then yes.
If she is a named driver on your insurance then no.
Hope this helps :) |

Yes you are insured, as long as you have permission from your girl friend. However, if the car gets damaged or you injury someone the 3rd party may in fact sue both you and your girlfriend. In most cases you are suppose to have your own insurance and if you continuously drive the car, that in fact is deemed to be defrauding the insurance company. You can always add your name as a driver of the vehicle to be safe. That's why number one rule of advice never let your friends drive your vehicles. However, states have different rules and regulations so its best to contact your local agent. |
