I buy my own health insurance. Currently I am being ripped off by Blue Cross Blue Shield! They suck and they are very expensive. Anyone know a better health insurance that is not too expensive?
I am a 27 year old female that makes $300 a week (just got laid off to part-time)

Blue Cross in GA I find not to be very competitive at all. You can use the tool on my site and it'll give you the prices of the other carriers. It requires no personal information to use.
I just sold someone there a policy for a little more than $100/month and it included maternity I believe. |

I live there too.
I also have blue cross.
My company offers a plan - and I'm the only one in a plant of 36 people that takes it.
Its called a high deductible plan. 4,000 deductible.
It costs me about 100 a month.
Even if I pay the 4,000 deductible, I still come ahead of paying what everyone else pays.
Its just people for some reason don't want to pay out of pocket when they go to the doctor.
See if your co offers it.

Health insurance can be very tricky. Since I live in Mississippi I'm not familiar with the Georgia laws and regulations, so I recommend you call a nearby insurance agent. http://www.americaschoicetoday.com/Health-Insurance.html They should be able to assist you. |

OK, What does "being ripped off" mean? At your age, if you are healthy, not overweight, and not pregnant, a low/no deductible plan should cost around $300 a month, not including maternity benefits.
With health insurance, you get exactly what you pay for. Cheaper policies mean less coverage, or a scam.
Time to start looking for another job, with benefits, I'd say. |
