If you were already married to your husband when he co-signed for his ex spouse then "Yes", You can be held liable for the debt.
If he co-signed for his ex before you married him then "NO". You are not responsible for debts or contracts incurred prior to your marriage.
"Almost" any contractual obligation your husband signs for while married to you, you can be held responsible for and visa versa.
Once married, Common law invokes, meaning that under the law while in the state of marriage for many purposes the couple is viewed as a single entity and both of you can be held fully liable jointly and severally.
