I've noticed that the older you get, the more restrictions when it comes to adequate coverage. Since traditional insurance may be out of your price range, I definitely would take a serious look at discounted health programs. We have a diabetic program that will definitely help alleviate some of the costs. You can get more information regarding our programs at www.mybenefitsplus.com/trhonda2000. I hate to be nosy but I really need more info. My best advice would be to sign up for social security disability where you will qualify for either total or partial disability depending on your disablity. Hoqwever, if you can get a job then i would go to walmart or somewhere similar and work part time. If the company has over I bel;eive 25 employees they can't say no to hiring you just because your disabled. Also, if you get a job at walmart or somewhere where group insurance they HAVE to give you coverage AS LONG AS you sign up for it ASAP as soon as your hired take out coverage and you will have great coverage at low rates. |

My mom has medicare for diabetic and disable you should contact your county and try to apply.
If it doesn't work out go to www.thehealthbenefits.net
The plan run from 19.95 - 59.95 for entire family. Once you are a member they will send you a packet detail information and doctors etc.

You're not going to find a private policy to cover you, as a diabetic. If you are disabled enough for SSDI, you can go on Medicare. If you're not disabled enough for SSDI, you're going to have to be creative to find a way to increase your income - lots of "disabled" people find creative ways to work, you'll have to be one of them.
That will allow you to pay for some medical treatments out of pocket.
You can ALSO try to learn as much as you can over the internet, about your various disorders, so that you can self-manage. If you have type 2, do the extreme low carb diet, excercise, maintain your weight in a healthy range, and most of your symptoms will disappear. If you have a weight issue, you have to address that first - and you can do it alone, if you want to change it badly enough. Just that, will make MOST of your symptoms disappear. Diet and excercise, and healthy habits (ie, not smoking), will do more for any person than ANY doctor can do. |
