Providing that you were not fired due to something bad, then yes, you still qualify. The pay will be based on your previous job, however. Don't expect too much out of them, either, although I understand that at times, something is better than nothing.
My fiance left a job early this year, as he had found another which paid more and was something he enjoyed doing. 2 weeks into the job he was "let go" due to a simple mistake that a customer went berserk over. He was still able to receive unemployment benefits from his previous job. |

To the best of my knowledge, as long as you were fired from your job for a reason deemed to be unrelated to your negligence (or, in your first case, the business simply ceased to exist) you might be able to apply for unemployment. (This does not apply if you simply QUIT a job, though.) The unemployment benefit you will receive is usually based upon what your previously salary was (but don't expect it to be ample!) You will be expected to provide some sort of evidence that you have been actively searching for a job each...like...week, I believe, and there is definitely a time limit for receiving unemployment.
Looks like you may be eligible, though...worth a try, use those tax dollars! :)

That sounds like my situation. I got a job in Sept and in Dec I was laid off so I was able to collect unemployment. I started working again in March and was fired in June. I tried to collect unemployment but if you are fired they will not let you collect. |

A question of semantics. If you were fired for just cause, no. If you were 'laid off' for lack of work, yes. |
