An insurance check with my name and the bank name...?
I have a check from my insurance company to fix my car after an accident. Because it is under a loan through the bank still, the check has my name and their name on it, am i ok to just go ahead and deposit it into my account?
Not until the bank signs off on it! They have to sign off and agree for you to deposit it, and not repair the car. Depending on the damages, they may or may not be willing to do that.

If the cehck is made out to both of you, the bank or their representative will have to also sign it. You can then either sign it over to the body shop or deposit it and draw a separate check.

no, you have to have the leinholder endorse it as well. contact them, as many of them have agreements with local banks for that process.

You will need to contact your loan company. They may have to sign off on the check. Your bank probably will not let you deposit with a loan company listed on it.

You'll need to speak with your loan officer as to what to do with it. Usually they will just verify the check and inital or sign it and then you will be allowed to deposit it into your account.

No, the bank will not take it without both endorsers. I ran in to this on an insurance claim as well, they do it to protect the lienholder. What you do is give the check to the body shop that is fixing your car, endorsed by you as payment. Then they will submit it to the lienholder bank for endorsement and payment.

Just get your car fixed. Deposit it into their bank account under your name.
